Well, I'm not exactly new around these parts, I've had an account for about a year and I've never really had anything to write about. But hell, I might as well write an intro blog.
I've been gaming for as long as I remember. My parents seemed to actively pushed me towards video games since I could hold a controler. I don't know if they thought they were good for me or what, but they were always buying me older used systems like the SNES and the Gameboy (I'm a nineties kid). Some of my earlier memorys are of sitting infront of the TV with my dad or mom playing SNES or the Genisis. Games I remember playing constantly are NHL 94, the Sonic games, and Taz Escape from Mars (which was my fav). My parents never really evolved with video games as they got more complex, but I kept on going, eventually getting a N64, were I really started getting into games. Games like Mario 64 and Starfox were my favourites during that gen.
Nowadays, I game mostly with my Xbox 360 and DS. I started out this gen a big fan of action games, the Halos and the Call of Dutys, but now I've branched out into becoming a semi-big RPG guy, looking for the more offbeat games, like Elite Beat Agents, one of my fav DS games. I got my hands on a cheap PS2 a little while back, having missed it the first time around, and I'm starting to go back and get some of the classics I missed. I only have Persona 4 so far, which I wanted to play after watching a few of Giant Bomb's Endurance Run videos (a video series of two guys playing a JRPG, which are way more funny and entertaining than they should be). And yes, I do like sports games, mostly Madden and NHL.
Other than games, I'm going to university, studying to be a history teacher. So when I'm not in classes, I spend alot of time in quite libraries studying and writing essays. Fun. During the winter I play hockey, as a goalie. Because I find standing in place and occasionally getting frozen rubber pucks shot at me fun, apparently. I'm a huge comic book geek. I'm a big Marvel fan, but have started to read more DC and indie stuff more recently. I'm also a huge book worm. Recently I've started George R.R. Martin's Song of Fire and Ice series. Even though I really like the Lord of the Rings books, I've never gotten into fantasy books, but the SoIaF's focus on semi-realism is a nice change of pace from other high fantasies I've tried to get into.
Well, that's a big ol wall of text, ain't it. I hope my self-ramblings doesn't bore anyone to much

Nice intro! Hope to see you around more often!
And good luck catching up on all of the amazing PS2 stuff. You have a long, long road ahead of you.
Welcome. Hope to see you around more.
You're a good guy. Welcome to the robot army.
Canada, fuck yeah! What's your polar bears name? Mine is named Susy.
Welcome dude! <3. I like your avatar! Thanks for also writing a kickin' about me section. Please do blog about why you dislike Reign of Fire sometime :D
Welcome Mr. Tower! we hope you enjoy your stay
welcome! we love you.
Nice banner!
Thanks for the intro! That's bad-ass that your parents actively exposed you to gaming. My folks more went along with it as opposed to encouraging it.
Love LOTR, and Douglas Adams says a towel is indispensable to galactic travellers, so cheers!
WELCOME AND DONT SUCK OR I WONT BE YOUR FRIEND!
HOLY SHIT AQUABATS FTW
Welcome dude.
You read Marvel Ultimates #3? I'm thinking of picking it up but am not sure..
Nice intro!

"Nowadays, I game mostly with my Xbox 360 and DS."
Me too, welcome to Destructoid.
Heh, thanks for all the kind words. I'll try not to suck in the future.

Reginald. Reginald the polar bear.
@TheToiletDuck
I havn't read the Ultimates since the first few trades of Millar's run, but I havn't heard very many good things about Ultimates 3. I'd check out the first issue before deciding.
@Elsa
I prefer a cart driven by a group of beavers. It's like the cadillac of canadian summer driving.
