With the open beta slowly coming to a close, gamers have seen plenty of creative user levels from everyone's favorite calculator simulator, Little Big Planet. Now, it seems one creative gamer decided to step it up a notch.
Instead of the ol' boring tradition of getting down on one knee and proposing in real life, Jed05 decided to craft a level in Little Big Planet entirely dedicated to proposing to his girlfriend. Describing why he chose Little Big Planet as his platform, Jed05 stated:
"I've been wanting to do something creative to ask her to marry me, and what a better way than Little Big Planet! I know the last part of the level may not be that exciting, but I have a fiancee now!"
How sweet. Oh sure, the concept of using a video game to propose to someone isn't entirely new, but I applaud the man for putting in the time to create the level.
If you're curious to try the level out yourself (for some God-forsaken reason), it's listed as "Love and Marriage" from user "DimmuJed".
Also, I love the gasp that is heard when the "WILL U MAURY MEH" is revealed, and then you can only assume the man realizes what he's done and goes on to finish the level, while his fiancee cries, while slightly confused.
That's certainly highly creative, and seeing as how my wife is in love with the game it would probably have worked for us had the game been out back then.
This isn't that sad. I went to go see Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith at the first midnight showing, and a guy got up and proposed tohis girlfriend in front of everyone right before the movie started in a full Jedi costume. She loved it, but of course she was also dressed up in a Jedi costume as well.
When will people realise the irony of calling someone a "nerd" on a video game blog? LOL @ self pwnage.
I'm with MUSHMAN: Fuck the haters.
I suppose it would have been less lame if he'd proposed drunk at a football match just before diving into a brawl? Or maybe picked something more original, like a beach at sunset, or an expensive restaurant?
MrSadistic I recommend red and black baking soda. xD
Well, you can either be basic, original, expensive or cheap. Either way it's your call. It's new and gets the message across, so I think it's cool ("A for effort"). I guess it depends on your personal tastes and what you think the other person will like (cause that may or may not influence their decision "how you propose").
For people who like taking the knee... At least you have a moment to think about it and pretend you dropped something or picked up some loose change.
- just a terrible j/k
(no hate intended).

This is lame right?
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
In all seriousness gay guy proposing to his bi girlfriend, NO?
Make a level to tell the kids to take out the trash.
Whatever floats his boat I guess.
Did I mention the pathetic part yet?

You're pathetic sadistic.
But I'd never do that shit.
Absolutely not.
