A idea of mine... PLZ DON'T HURT MEEE
MrNiceguy | 6:17 PM on 12.09.2008 14 comments

Okay I know alot of mmos are now trying to fit in pvp and action aspects on an mmo....
Well I was thinking about an idea for an mmo... it may look pathetic and I agree just hear me out and go ahead and criticize if you want to.

The special attacks would be divided into high middle and low... it would be like rock paper scissors, High would beat middle, middle would beat low, and low would beat high. Of course if the timing's way off it wouldn't go into affect.
There well be 3 defensive skills... and again divided into three categories. If you time it perfectly it will result in a counter, and if you hold on to it it will result in defense... but remember holding it for too long would leave you open for the other two attacks.

Now I envisioned this world that merges east and the west... there would be knights with big armors and there will be monks, and fighters in long robes. I was thinking about letting every character learn magic freely, and everyone from level 1 or set level will get these spirits that would cast those magics for you... You will be able to feed him and make him grow, different feeds resulting in different kinds of magic.

So this is the basic mechanics... I wanted to go with that fusing armors thiings, so players can have much more choices in their costumes... and I want to make customization a BIG aspect of the whole game.

The cool thing about this game is that, you physical aspects will actually have an effect on your abilities...
The more muscle means more strength, but the endurance and critical would go down. The more fat would mean more toughness, and hp but the speed and endurance will go down, and so on, you know what I mean?

Also the thing about this game is that... you start off as a peasant... or the lowliest of class... you can go learn martial arts or decide to pick up a weapon... its all in your hand. When you pick up a weapon you automatically start getting experience with that weapon and you gradually learn skills. So you can make your character as hybrid as you would like, monk mage, templer what ever.
We will have class titles and just titles as well. Like "The Lightning quick" or stuff like that.
Anyways I know its easier said then done... and if you guys wish to add or attack this post then Ill leave it up to you.

I got this one guys.

Rock Paper Scissors: Sounds like Soul Calibur. Interesting

Timing counter: with network latency, I have my reservations about applying this to an mmo . . . I mean it works ell enough in fighting games, but even there, your pros and fight fanatics can feel the lag.

Attributes and magic on everyone: Sounds like Fable, which isn't a bad thing.

That's a cluster of cool ideas that have happened on the not-mmo scene. It kind of sounds like a Fable II MMO, which i think would be amazing. The problem comes in at the massive multi level, and I have my layman reservation about technology matching up with these ideas.

dude u just described FF11 jobs system lol.

(which honestly is the best ive seen, just level 1 character + any possible job/class/synth/goldigger lvlin you would like.

Everywhere else, its level 1 character, 1 job class. May be 2 but thats it. FF11 offers you over 20 job classes for 1 character, and trust me, you will die 90 years old before you can master all of them.
