Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
So really, a Mac is a PC. And Apple is really just arguing against themselves.
And yet, it works....I really wanna move to Pluto....
I also don't like how Macs are extremely overpriced. Sure, "you get what you pay for" but tell me what good a Faberge egg is in all of its expensive glory?
I know, I'm biased because I grew up with a PC, but I started every day of my final semester in a Mac lab at school, and I adjusted pretty quickly. I was limited in what I could do (as was the case on all school computers), but I made do. ...that and I screwed around in Photo Booth so much...
Do Macs have right-click now? The ones I encountered had three-button mice (scroll wheel being #3), which I always though odd as I knew Macs for their single button plus weird rolly ball thong on top. Huh.
I think they have some lounge with a really arrogant name to.
That said, all manner of PC's suck, both macs and this computer I am using right now, I yearn for smoke signals or a pen and paper.
From a consumer experience POV, I like that the Mac philosophy is that this is your pre-packaged box made to work well with everything they've built it with. Does kind of suck sometimes not beind able to crack it open and upgrade this or that. But I can appreciate the blissful sheild that Mac OS puts between me and the programmy bits of computer ownership.
Even though I can use my macbook well, I'd still rather have a top-of-the-line laptop... or a macbook pro with windows finally running.
Blowing £1600 on it.
Never used a Mac before.
My laptop keeps crashing despite formatting, i think the motherboard is faulty. Can't be bothered with it any more.
And it turns out that the 24" iMacs are actually good value for money.
Shock!
The mac laptops (macbook), seem solid from a hardware design standpoint. But then reality kicks in and you can get pretty much any laptop you like with a PC and you will be able to play some games... more than a 1000 usd on a laptop pc does wonders, something I cant say for the mac.
I know people in the IT industry, mac´s are expensive toys.
