Macs and PCs the never ending battle

Alright so I am a graphic design student and my school has a mac lab. Yes a mac lab, an entire lab of mac computers. To some this is awesome and to others this is hell. I myself don't give a shit about either. To me a computer is a computer and I'm getting sick of the retarded excuses I here at school. The number one excuse is "I can't use a mac, its not a PC." Fuck that you wanna know one of the major differences between them other than the way they look, one fucking key on the keyboard. This in my opinion is the only real difference between a Mac and a PC. I know some of you will think I'm fucking stupid and that there are so many other differences well in the graphics world this is really the only difference. The programs look and run the same, a mouse is a mouse, its stupid. People in my classes constantly say they can't do anything cause the mac isn't a PC. And why do you ask is it that they say this, because they can't use the flippin' command key a.k.a. the apple key. Why can't you copy and or past because instead of control c or control v its command c and command v.

This is just going to seem like some kind of moronic rant from some pissed off asshole. Maybe it is maybe it isn't I don't know. All I know is I'm fucking sick of all this idiots and there lame ass excuse for for sucking at the class. Graphics is an intense field and if your not dedicated then leave. Its rough to find a good job and even harder to have good enough work to be excepted and seen as a benefit to the company.

Macs and PCs the age old battle. It's never going to end until Mac users stop being kinda douche bags and PC users stop being winy jerks and nerd. I myself use a PC but for what I use it for I would probably be better off using a Mac. PC users rub it in everyone's face that they use a PC and how "uber 1337" it is and Mac users rub in the fact that they can make pretty pictures and music. It sickens me I find it dumb and pointless. Basically all I was trying to say is don't be a bitch if you haven't used a Mac and if you have don't rub it in everyone's faces.

Thanks for reading my complaining there will probably be more to come, and if anyone thinks that this was stupid and want to fight me or hit me with a car per say, thank you.

PC = Personal computer.

So really, a Mac is a PC. And Apple is really just arguing against themselves.

And yet, it works....I really wanna move to Pluto....

No 64-bit Photoshop for Macs. . . just saying.

it takes about 10 minutes of use to get used to the Mac interface, its really not that bad. Also, Final Cut Studio is Mac only, which is the only reason I use a Mac at school.

This didn't really say a whole lot that hasn't been stated elsewhere, though it's still true. Personally, I use PCs more for gaming and...well, everything, and Macs are teh pretty!!! and you can do some neat graphical stuff with them.

I also don't like how Macs are extremely overpriced. Sure, "you get what you pay for" but tell me what good a Faberge egg is in all of its expensive glory?

I know, I'm biased because I grew up with a PC, but I started every day of my final semester in a Mac lab at school, and I adjusted pretty quickly. I was limited in what I could do (as was the case on all school computers), but I made do. ...that and I screwed around in Photo Booth so much...

Do Macs have right-click now? The ones I encountered had three-button mice (scroll wheel being #3), which I always though odd as I knew Macs for their single button plus weird rolly ball thong on top. Huh.

I can't stand macs or apple fanboys. I grew up with a PC, have built a few of my own along the way, and just prefer the freedom of Linux/Windows over the more expensive apple systems. Also, the one button mouse thing sucks.

Your a lot safer with mac then windows. I wouldn't want a pc that crashes every few hours just for using some advance software.

Darkair; If your PC is crashing every few hours, you're either playing Crysis, or you've done something terribly stupid.

I've been using a Mac for two years now and it is MILES better than a PC. I had issues every week with my Dell and zero with my Mac.

I think the debate shall rage as long as Apple keeps pushing macs as some sort of fashion accessory, the commercials don't help either as they make it seem like only the hip and cool use macs and only old people or some other dumb stereotype use PC's.

I think they have some lounge with a really arrogant name to.

That said, all manner of PC's suck, both macs and this computer I am using right now, I yearn for smoke signals or a pen and paper.

For what its worth Macs are currently compatible with two button mouse input. Have been since OS X. I use a two (technically four) button trackball on mine.

From a consumer experience POV, I like that the Mac philosophy is that this is your pre-packaged box made to work well with everything they've built it with. Does kind of suck sometimes not beind able to crack it open and upgrade this or that. But I can appreciate the blissful sheild that Mac OS puts between me and the programmy bits of computer ownership.

I've had a white macbook for about 3 years now and it's still rocking out perfectly. The only thing I hate is that not a lot of games have mac versions (Noitu Love 2... cries). My mac is too old to have bootcamp, Parallels hates my mac, Daemon tools didn't go that well, and I'm hoping VM ware will finally get WinXP working, I really want to play Noitu Love 2 and many other Windows only games.

Even though I can use my macbook well, I'd still rather have a top-of-the-line laptop... or a macbook pro with windows finally running.

I personally run PC just because they're a whole hell of a lot cheaper and I play pc games on occasion. I have to say that I'm a little bit biased against Macs just because I know a lot of people that have macs just for looks and nothing else. I also hate the "oh I'm a starving college student who has trouble making rent and such... but I have a totally sweet $1.5k+ mac laptop."

I'm getting an iMac next week.
Blowing £1600 on it.
Never used a Mac before.
My laptop keeps crashing despite formatting, i think the motherboard is faulty. Can't be bothered with it any more.
And it turns out that the 24" iMacs are actually good value for money.
Shock!

Well I use PC because I game on my PC. I see the mac trend as an expensive one, and really only because of the look&feel?

The mac laptops (macbook), seem solid from a hardware design standpoint. But then reality kicks in and you can get pretty much any laptop you like with a PC and you will be able to play some games... more than a 1000 usd on a laptop pc does wonders, something I cant say for the mac.

I know people in the IT industry, mac´s are expensive toys.
