Here it is. I am going to attempt to start a regular blog about classic, and I use the term loosely, games and series that I had missed growing up and am finally trying out.
Up first...
THE SPLATTERHOUSE GAMES
As a kid wandering around arcades, I came across the original Splatterhouse on many occasions. To tell you the truth I think I was just a pussy ass little girl-child because, if I remember correctly, the cabinet had a giant picture of the main character, a shameless Jason Voorhees rip-off, plastered to the side that terrified me. What? I was like 5. Anyway, since I recently got a NOT psp, I decided to NOT try these games out, if you get my drift. Now I am only a few levels into parts 2 and 3 on the Sega Genesis (I keep switching back and forth), but I have to admit they are seriously fun games. Demented and violent, like I like 'em. I always loved beat 'em ups. Take Final Fight, throw in some monsters and demons, a few weapons, and lots of blood and guts and there you have it.
Does anyone have any fond memories of Rick Taylor and his adventure to rescue his girlfriend?
Verdict: 8 Bootleg Jason Voorhees out of 10
Also, I know this edition is kind of short. Apparently you’re supposed to work when you are at work. Who knew? Anyway, I promise to make future editions longer and more in-depth.
Does anyone remember the one page comic in videogame magazines to advertise the first game? The one where the generic guy and girl go into a house, she disappears/screams, and he has this mask attached to his face?
English, please.
