Many of you fellow gamers play online shooters against other players, and have you ever stopped in the middle of a teabag, to think of how the ancestors of your current game are? Well, being one of the gamers lacking the funds for an XBL gold membership, and also lacking any free console shooters, is forced to play on my pc, this wouldn't be a problem, except that my pc is pretty damn slow compared to other machines out there. (i can't even play halo on this thing) So, i put the original Tribes, and Half-life 1 on my computer. I decided to try Tribes first, and i was amazed at the number of servers. There are enough servers and mods for me to play on a different server every day for around 2 years. And there are a few main mods, along with mini mods to the game. I played around for a bit, and then i tried Half life, but as i went to the play online section, i was dissapointed at the number of working servers. so somehow, A game with more widely recognized mods, is less played than an older game that less people know about. And so, i reatreat back into the Tribes, Land in my favorite server, grab my musket, and head off.
(sorry about the lack of screens, for some reason, whenever i tried to take one the color got all wonky)
