November arrived and is almost done already, that was fast! So as we are getting closer to the verge of another year, which has been very generous for my game collection, I think it is worth wondering about what will come and could come. But instead of making anticipations, I want to wind up what I WISH that was announced, or better yet, released, in 2010. What games I want to be there even if we do not have a single clue that confirms such thing. Half-Life 2: Episode 3/Half-Life 3
This franchise is my most praised in my PC game bunch. Half-Life 2 made me have a pact with first-person shooters after having an apathy of them for sucking at the GoldenEye 007 multiplayer, Halo 2 online, and how saturated the market was. It was the first time I played a shooter that the characters felt alive, and the exploration was fantastic. Going on, we got Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2. But we were left with a nasty cliffhanger at the end. Is it time to fire up the conclusion of this resistance against the aliens and keep sticking it to the man? We still got a lot of mysteries to get right in it. Left 4 Dead 2 is out, the DLC is coming, and Team Fortress 2 could always get an update for the Demoman or Engineer, but I think it is time to get back to the basics and conclude or at least resume the plotline of this epic, Valve. Grim Fandango 2/Remake
We know you want it, LucasArts. You just re-released the franchise of Monkey Island and it is turning to be a successful cash cow. Not as successful as Star Wars, but definitely profitable. So I think it is time to get working on one of the most significant steps of your past. Grim Fandango was AMAZING for being so darn clever and including great humor adapted with some crumbs of Mexican slang too. And who would be up for that job? Who else, but the great original creative mastermind Tim Schafer of course. A team-up work between Double Fine and LucasArts would be great now that Brutal Legend is on the stores. Either be it a sequel or a simple remake with additional features, Grim Fandango deserves a second chance to shine on again aside the family of LucasArts originals. Release it on Steam, WiiWare or even DS so you have a wider audienceand chance to spot the nail while still getting some cash out of it. Metroid 5
Nintendo, Metroid became from semi-obscure to super popuar in the lapse between 1995 and 2002 thanks to the Prime series, and you got plenty of a job with Team Ninja to launch Other M. But probably it is time to think about a new entry on the original chapters of Metroid. Metroid Fusion is the latest entry on the timeline, and while it was full of dramatic twists, the franchise still suggests it just cannot end like that. The genius of Gunpei Yokoi is not with us to lead on the production of the original entries, but I think Yoshio Sakamoto can do it again as did to lead the series to ressurect. Metroid Prime is astounding, but the timeline cannot get stuck in sequels of a prequel. Mother 1+2+3
I know, I know. This one has been asked since forever, but we can still hope even if we wait even 20 more years (or maybe not). Mother 3 was out on 2006, the translation is over a year old, and the game is still on demand with more people getting curious about it after Super Smash Bros Brawl. Shigesato Itoi has already confirmed that there won't be a Mother 4 as the series are concluded as trilogy. So a remake or pack of the games deserves to get out after a long time of pressure in the continent. I think it is all up to Iwata now, he is a close friend with Itoi, and they have rediscovered that the old classics are worth reviving. As this is about a closed trilogy, I would say that this deserves a conglomerated release as such. Like Star Wars did with the original trilogy for VHS in the 90s. Mother 1+2+3 could either be released in a deluxe form with great extras as figurines or posters, or at least make the release enclosed to Club Nintendo if you think it would be much of a dangerous economic stunt to attempt the release of a game it is not 100% sure everyone will get it. Because only your closest fans have been in contact with the series, but wouldn't hurt if gathered more. Beyond Good and Evil 2
Ubisoft, you got enough cash, stop being a teasing bitch. Assassin's Creed is the new big thing for them since the Prince of Persia revival, but they left us all a big overdue with a sequel of the cult classic which is Beyond Good and Evil. Michel Ancel has been given the opportunity of develop it but rumors roam that the project is now near cancellation, which would be totally unfair. I know we are living tough times, but resources are aplenty now for the French company and they are even making movies now. Keeping focus on a single game we all want would not hurt anyone. Drill Dozer 2
Nintendo, I think it would be cool if GameFreak had a break again from Pokemon and sponsor the project of a new Drill Dozer game The GBA game was so full of holes it was begging a sequel to fill them. Heck, it even felt like it was planned to be released not far from the first game. Without rumbling, it will be quite a challenge to make the gimmick live much, but perhaps, making a sequel on Wii would be a different story. So, will you ever continue the series, or will you leave all the fans scratching heads about the character development? We want to know! Wild Guns Remake
Natsume, do you EVEN remember Wild Guns? Do you? Do you not? It was like the prototype of Sin & Punishment for SNES, and it KICKED ASS with cowboys and freaking Terminator-esque robots. There have not been enough games with the wild west, so it is your chance to stand out more. Wii would be a nice idea to share control engine of Sin & Punishment 2, if it is not a bad idea, good partners make good 3rd party supporting even if that is using a similar concept. Balloon Fight Online
This comes from quite a few years ago after playing certain flash game. Balloon Fight is like the perfect retro revamp for a new exploitable field and WiiWare. Up to 4 players could compete to pop the other balloons with different objects and customizable parts to get different tactics or have an awesome avatar. With the adaptation of Miis, I am surprised this hasn't been thought about. So that is for now, I could probably come out with more but I am too tired to come with it. i know many of these are too far-fetched while others are pretty much confirmed, but I say they are all worth a mention. How about you? Do you have any pipe dream of something they could come with next year?

I completely agree that BG&E should've been announced for 2010 100% and I predict we'll get a HL3/Ep.3 announcement for 2011.
I will however say that I think Other M fills my Metroid 5 fantasies. Maybe it's because I never got in depth with the canon of the original Metroids (or Metroid in general for that matter) but I think Other M is an admirable effort to give the original Metroid a nod (I do wish however wish they gave Samus her red hair back. It bugs me to no end that suddenly she's a blonde.). Of course I say these things without playing it.
Really? The only memory I have of her without the helmet other than recently is Metroid. I beat Super Metroid but I thought she retained the red hair. Maybe I was too young to give a shit and my memory is failing me.
Whatever, blondes suck and she'll always be a redhead to me. Why blonde Nintendo? WHY!?!
Metroid 5
Beyond good and evil 2
HL2: Episode 3.
A remake I could live with, or just a re-release on Steam. It's also one of the few older games I've played that works on Vista without a hitch!
I'm waiting for Persona 5 and Sonic 4. The latter of which will never happen. ;_;
Yes, I know about Needlemouse. But it won't be the same.
My name is Kraid and I approve this message.
