About Me

About time I updated this freaking thing!

For those who already know me, I am Monodi. Those who doesn't, well, I am Monodi.

I got such a growing passion of gaming through the years and now I am currently in college starting my courses of Game Design as well!

I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy from all my life, but I have been much more in contact with titles for PC recently. Not that I am abandoning one, but I think it pretty much could cover the best the industry has to offer.

I am up for the philosophy that gameplay is more important than graphics, but I think graphics and technology are also a crucial part of the industry and experience even.

Games I love and recommend in no particular order

Rhythm Heaven (DS)
Half-Life 2 (PC/XBOX)
Team Fortress 2(PC)
Drill Dozer (GBA)
F-Zero GX (GameCube)
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS2)
Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GB/C)
Punch-Out!! (Wii)
Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)

World of Goo (PC/WiiWare)
Braid (PC/XBLA/PSN)
Starfox 64 (N64)
Left 4 Dead (PC/XBOX360)

ATTN: Tempt me with awesome useless crap [shortblog]
Monodi | 12:25 AM on 09.15.2009 10 comments

So I have been in the look for some goodies for my dormitory. geeky ones if possible!

the only thing I have in the walls is a rad Beatles poster, but as it is black and white, it looks very bland.

So I want YOU! To tempt me buying useless but awesome stuff.

Can be figures, posters, keychains, games, software or anything. Just should be:

- Around 10 bucks or lower: I got cash, but it is limited to my student spending, and I don't want to waste it all quickly!

- Geeky/Game-y/Awesome-y: I like gamer stuff including chiptunes and pixel art. Retro gaming stuff too, of course! I am a victim of merchandise!

- Legal: Yeah, otherwise it would affect my residency.

TIP: I was about to buy Anamanaguchi's latest disc but I was wondering if I could get something else by now. You can have a good start up for an idea of the stuff I like.

I am not sure if I am very clear, but tell me on something to get that is both cheap and really cool.

Now to make this entry more enjoyable, here is a picture of a ninja chick posing.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

I'd recommend hitting the forums and checking out the trading section. Nobody's going to mind you bending the rules slightly. Arranging transactions on the blogs is a bad idea.

You could buy these.

They're from an old Pepsi/Nintendo promotion, I think it was actually when SMB was first released, crazy eh?

@WryGuy

I dont understnd what is wrong with asking people to show me cool stuff to get. I mean, wouldnt it be the same if i said HEY GUYS I GOT 20 BUCKS WHAT GAME ON STEAM SHOULD I BUY???

@Puppy Licks

That's such an oddity! As a Nintendo fan I wouldnt mind having them at all, but they are still simply bottle caps for me.

@Monodi: I'm actually writing an article on why people should use the forums more often.

I kinda misread the blog so my apologies. Either way I wasn't saying this was a bad thing. Just the way I read your blog before, I thought you wanted D-Toiders to sell you their stuff.

Find some thrift stores in your town. They rule...I always find something of interest and its always dirt cheap.

For example I went to one last weekend with some buddies to get birthday presents for my friend and found a cassette called A Pan Pipes Christmas and Mortal Kombat on Genesis.

I agree... hit up the thrift stores - they can have some really interesting (and cheap) stuff! Also, if you have a gaming store in your area, ask if they have any old promotional items lying around. (a guy at my local game store is always trying to give me art books or posters - just to get rid of them) - there are some surprising promo items!
