Today brought us two Brawl Updates. One was an Ice Climbers soundtrack for the Summit level. Part of it sounds like Breath of Fire III to me.
But anyway, onto the bigger news of today, which is the Options Mode.
The above picture is what's claimed to be the Main Menu
You'll notice the 6 options that are up there. Today, Options is being shown off.
Notice that Sounds are there. Look further on to find out about it.
Deflicker
I think mostly everyone knows what this does. You can't tell the difference with a picture, so Sakurai suggests "toggling it on and off on your own TV."
The usual Deflicker stuff.
Rumble
This Option lets you choose which controllers have rumble, and which player names can have rumble regardless of the controller options. Please note, the Classic Controller has no rumble feature, so even if it's labeled as "On" it won't do the shakey.
Can't really think of anything to say here without sounding stupid. So, on to the next mode:
Sound
This, like Melée, lets you alter how loud or quiet the sound effects and music are. You can't have both at maximum or minimum, as turning one up turns the other down.
Here, the sound effects would be louder than the music.
And, the other part of Sound - the Sound Test mode. It's available from the start this time, so no need to go about unlocking all the levels for it this time around.
It looks rather slick this time around. You can choose to go through the tracks by title or category as there are so many around in this game.
You can also have the character sound effects, so you can hear them fly away without all the beating up needed before-hand. :) And the final mode that hasn't been featured yet is:
Erase Data
Sakurai warns the player not to use this. So unless you want to get the characters again (which you can easily do on another memory card) don't use this mode.
It gives you a notice that the final option erases EVERYTHING. So no touchy.
He also gives links to the 3 "Options" modes he's already shown:
Screen
Controls
My Music
Click on the link above the picture to go to that option screen.
And I'm done. Drinks are in the lobby.
Please excuse the Sound Effects picture, it wouldn't go to a smaller size without using Photoshop.
Nice post, Mista. Although I'm not too interested in Smash Brothers, it looks like you put some work into this. Props.
One little piece of advice from me is to put up a title that isn't so vague. Update can mean anything. We're in the age of the internet. An update can mean a patch for a game or a news update.
i'll put a different title up when the next Smash Bros post comes along
@ vexed alex
The vague title fits because the Smash Dojo has been updating with practically nothing of importance as of late. Stupid game delays.
And as far as effort, all you do is add the pics. BS at least has like a nice format with good pic sizes and better commentary. I'm all about democracy and all, but BS even runs a contest about it. It's his baby, not yours. Sorry.
Also, the argument that Brits can read it makes no sense. EVERYONE can read it and ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I dunno if you still thought the Internet was magic over there or not... seriously...
But yeah Blindside usually does this, but that just means there will be two update blogs.
[reggie voice]Does BSD have the exclusive right to repost the Smash updates? Not even close. Will people think it's a little strange for you to do the exact same thing, only starting a few months later? Absolutely.[/reggie voice]
to b-radicate: i don't think the internet is "magic" over here. it's just a midnight post to some people in america means a morning update here. that's all i can really say though, as anything else would be bordering on extreme obscenity and might get me banned.
Its true that Blindside has been doing these since the beginning of time, but who cares? Let him post it for the UK.
