Well, my name is Shauni Maple. I am 20yrs of age. AND I FUCKING LOVE GAMES.
I've been playing video games since the age of three, and to this day I am constantly playing games; I am a hardcore fan of RPGs and JRPGs. However I do like classic point-and-click games, like Grim Fandango, Curse of monkey Island. Diskworld is pretty neat too. I have played every Final Fantasy game, and beaten 1 through 10-2. ;3 (Some 100%). And my boyfriend has gotten me into rhythm games like, DDR, Elite Beat Agents, etc etc.
The consoles I've own/ed are:
-Sega Megadrive
-SNES
-Nintendo 64
-Playstation X
-Playstation 2 & PS2 Slim
-Gameboy colour
-Gameboy Advance
-Gameboy Advance SP
-Gameboy Micro
-DS
-DS Lite
-Xbox 360
-Playstation 3
-PSP
-(SOON TO BE) 3DS
... I think that is all of them. xD
My favourite Games are: Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts Series, Eternal Sonata, Tales of saga, Chrono Trigger, any Mario games, Phoenix Wright Series, Pokemon <3, Grim Fandango, Sims, Rockband/Guitar Hero, Grand Theft Auto, etc etc.
But yeah, living in the UK is fun, due to being able to do Games Design at Bolton University <3 Game releases can be awful over here though!
Aswell as loving video games, I love anime, manga, drawing and anything Japanese really. :P I also love my wonderful Boyfriend of 4yrs and 5months, who is doing Computer Software and Development at Bolton University.
Experimental games have to be really frustrating though. I watched that video of that Russian whatever game and my God, while I appreciate the necessity to get across a message...don't put that in my games, or at least, not anviliciously so.
And yeah, you're one of the very few who doesn't want an FF7 remake, though my reasoning is different than yours. =P
As for the elusive Final Fantasy VII....eh, take it or leave it. I'd buy it for $20 maybe but I don't dream about it. Now a Final Fantasy III(VI, whatever) remake.....holy shit. I'd drive a bus full of orphans off a cliff to get that made.
As for experimental games, I've played a few before, and I have to agree that they give you a completely different perspective on games to what you have before, and is a good idea to try if you're looking at going in to a career in games.
Also, you and me both know that if an FF7 sequel does come out, it will sell like hotcakes regardless of its quality. It could be a blank disk and people would still buy it because of the label.
Essentially, writing is easy when you have not limitations on length. The task for a small review is difficult, but not impossible. I suggest you think deeply about it for a while. Boil down your thoughts to only the most important and the most easily conveyed.
