Don't go back to Pokemon so readily. I stopped with Platinum so I wouldn't get burnt out before even starting HGSS.
What was your team, by the way? And I heard a lot of the criticism of RS was not only the fact that it was like it was trying to be a reboot of the franchise, but because roughly half of the Pokes were in the other version. Designs aside...Third gen is really the only one I haven't played much of. Did you have trouble with certain gyms of whatever type? Elite 4? Pokedex fill rate?

Grats on beating Pokémon again Shauni! I agree with Danny, go play another game so you don't get burnt out, kay? Or atleast catch some cool pokémon on Sapphire so you've got some fun ones to transfer over from the pal park. :3

I kinda wish they stuck with the 1st and 2nd gen pokemon; I had an attachment to the older pokemon, whereas there aren't many pokemon in the new generations that I want to really have in my team, like a 'MUST HAVE' feeling. I just like my Eevees~ But in this quick-run of saphire, I just mainly used elemental pokemon. :)

I don't think I ever got all the pokemon in the 3rd-gen games either. Through a cooperative effort with my brother, we managed to get all the legendaries though (minus Jirachi and Deoxys, for obvious reasons).
Oooo, haha! I tried not to evolve my pokemon as they learn their moves quicker that way xD

I do what I can. Porygon, Togekiss, and Lopunny were pretty much my go-to people for elements. It's going to be nice abusing the Pokewalker to get some nice choices early on. I already have access to three Normals at the start of the game, and the Pokewalker adds two more. :D
I like Sapphire and Ruby better then I liked the other newer ones and my expectations of Soul silver and heart gold are getting slim if Nintendo and game freak don't up the difficulty a little.
I came close to actually seeing them all in D/P/Pt. Around 400 before I stopped.
Around 300 caught/traded in D/P/Pt. Never got over that in any other Pokemon games, because I never really traded.

I dropped a fiver on SS when I bought NMH2. No preorder thingy, but that's fine with me. I'm doing a lot of research and I think I have this all planned out. The hard part is keeping my ear to the ground as far as WiFi events go. Damn those event-only legendaries.
@Doomsday: GS is doing a Jirachi event sometime during the release of HG/SS. I think it's afterwards.
@Daxelman: Ooooh, this is good news for me. I deliberately missed out on the Pikachu-colored Pichu and will subsequently miss out on the Spiky-Eared variant, but that's fine with me since I'm sure they'll have it again sometime. Shame it's required for Celebi. =\

@Doomsday: you would be suprised at how many people would be willing to give up event only Pokemon for tournament ready monsters. Hell, back when I thought Gaia was cool, people would just give out Pokemon when they got the dex info. Crazy meng...

@Dax: Yeah, if I actually raised tournament-ready Mons, then that'd apply, but I'm closer to the casual side of the spectrum. =P All I'd want in terms of event monsters is the Pokedex data and that's it. I generally don't use Legendaries as it is, but the thought that I can't even get the "seen" entry without jumping through hoops is irritating. At least Platinum allows you to see Manaphy in a book for completion, since there's no other way to get it outside of Pokemon Ranger.
@Daed: While that's good to know, I also have no way to transfer it to HGSS without relying on others. I'll see about heading out to GS in the near future though.

Sad admission.... I have never played a pokemon game (and didn't even know what a pokemon was until I started hanging out at gaming sites! LOL!) :(

I know, I should be ashamed of myself!! Hopefully one of the upcoming FF games changes things, and I've been thinking of getting a DS (currently I just borrow the one I bought for my Mom)... so at one point I may have to rectify my inexperience with pokemon! :)
