Bigger Lies Than Cake: Games Get You Laid
MissHinasaki | 6:29 PM on 01.15.2008 13 comments

I begin with a guilty admission: I read AOL's GameDaily. Only because it pops up when I turn my instant messenger on and I like to see what ridiculous things they consider "gaming news," but none the less, the damage is not done by itself. Today I was reading an "article" about the Dreamcast when on the sidebar I saw the headline "Nine Games that Can Get You Laid." Interested for some reason, I clicked, halfway expecting to see games that condone cybering or even get some in game NPC action. I was disturbed and slightly amused by what I found instead.

Apparently, GameDaily thinks that simulation games are accurate portrayals of what people are like in real life. For some reason, after that grossly inaccurate statement, I continued on. A trend I have noticed is that non-game related news sites tend to think that Wii games get the ladies all excited, so if you're looking for a little action, apparently Wii Sports in the hands of a woman is a regular old aphrodisiac. They also recommend "Anything with Mario." And apparently if you rock out on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, that's impressive as well, as opposed to actually writing a song or simply just learning guitar (believe me, it's not hard). After they made a few more terrible puns about banging drums and such, they talked more about other waggle friendly games such as Raving Rabbids. The big shocker though, was this:

They mentioned Rez. And the Trance Vibrator. O_O Finally, they list a game that might actually get your girl going. It still illudes me as to why people seem to think that Wii games are enough to get into a girl's pants. Maybe it's the whole "girls don't play games" mentality that's still going around and the Wii being "cute and friendly" and having some weird hypnotizing charm that I seem to be immune to, but I just think that the best advice is this: if you're dating a girl that actually does play video games, put your Wii away and whip out some real games. If she's a nongamer, just don't bring the games into the equation. It will not bring you sex. Maybe some fun and a few laughs, but no sex. Unless you have a Trance Vibrator.

Games do the opposite of get you laid. They get you un-laid.

That list was a load of crap, not that i was thinking that it'd be true, but atleast thinking it be clever or funny about the topic. unfortunately it was neither, just a waste of time.

I do read some of those AOL gaming strips...but only out of curiosity too. Usually they end up putting the obvious out there or just trying to be funny in a non funny way. Though I'm not sure if they said more wii games because of the "Wiiing" you're doing with the remote. (waggling around the remote with minigames from like Warioware and/or Rayman.) I don't know.

either way, America overall is still one sided with games and it's about time people start to fucking grow up about it if they haven't already.

I personally know six people that have had or are having actual sex with each other because of World of Warcraft. The kind where the penis goes in the vagina. In reality.

I'm not one of them :(

I remember reading this a few days ago, then closing it as if nothing had happened. Like a storm had just passed outside my window while I was cosy and warm in bed...not getting laid.

Seriously, now that I have time to actually absorb and think about it, gamer girls are cool. Simple as that. If they like games and that turns them on, awesome. But in "regular people land" games will do diddly squat. Different girls like different things.

If, whoever takes this advice, was a real gamer they would know that games won't get you laid. Cripplingly frustrating, and painful to know, but it's the truth.

Ok, yeah, one time maybe, there could be a chance that a gaming session leads to sex, but games are not about to turn girls into sex demons anytime soon...that's the mans job.

Do you guys want the machines to fuck our women? We already fail in the face of a vibrator. What are we going to do when a game is all a girl needs?

Nothing. Because it won't happen.

Quite bitter, aren't we?

Yeah, games can turn me on on occasion, but I will always prefer a man to do that work (and I especially prefer men to any sexual toy, even a trance vibrator XP).

I think it's possible to have a good time with a lady friend with some simple games (non-gamer girls, I mean), not to mention it might be kind of cute. Ya never know. Sometimes girlfriends like to do things "guy like" just to be cutesy or something, like the equivalent of putting one of your shirts on and walking around your house in it. It's a sign that they're into you and they want to be a part of what you're doing, so please don't go out of your way to avoid that interaction. If they see you playing one day and seem interested, hand them a controller. I just think it's better to let them come to you as opposed to trying to get them to be interested in your world.

Girls in general can just be plain hard to get. I'll admit it now that a lot of my video gaming habits steam from me being around the guys a lot more than the girls and sometimes I even use it as a tool to get guys. But honestly, besides the fact that I don't know if I could date someone who didn't like video games, I try to keep it out of my love life. I'm a cranky gamer. Unless I've just finish playing Galaga, which seems to work as a positive mood stimulator for me.
