I'd prefer to get Orange Box for PC then a console version anyway. I like you avi but emo mecha is still emo.
Heavenly sword is short if you plow through it and don't take it slow. COD4 is good, but if you aren't playing it online the single player part, while great, is also short. I really haven't played Ratchet and Clank but I enjoyed the hell out of the demo also I can't comment on its length since I don't own it. I would say either Ratchet or Uncharted, the Uncharted demo was fun, it looks great and has some good voice acting from what I've seen. Also don't forget Assassins Creed, I've been enjoying that emmensly on my PS3 so far. I don't think with either of those 3 you could go wrong though.
I'm actually heading out to get Uncharted later today, don't get Assassin's Creed what with the framerates and repetetiveness and *OMG SPOILER* and what not.
So what I mean is to get Uncharted.

Yeah I was thinking about Uncharted as well but the IGN review has me a little scared since they said it took them 8 hours.

Well Eva is THE mecha mind fuck but Shinji is still a pussy. If you want the mind fuck then Eva is the way to go but if you want sheer awesomeness with no wussy protagonist; then I would suggest some Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Diebuster, and Gunbuster. And for the most realistic use of mecha would be Gundam 8th MS team.
If it comes down to Assissns Creed & Uncharted.
GET UNCHARTED!
Uncharted = TombRaider, Gears O War, & ICCO.

Halo 3, wait, scratch that, get CoD 4.
Since you already own Warhawk, one of the best online console games at the moment, I would hazard a guess that you enjoy multi-player, which is what CoD kicks ass at.
It also has great replayability, so it should last you a while, at least until you get a few more gift certificates.
If you have to get a PS3 game right now you should get Resistance: Fall of Man (Halo 3 is better), Heavenly Sword (god of War 2 is better) or Ratchet & Clank (Mario Galaxy is better. It seems no matter what you get for your PS3 someone is playing a better game of the same genre on another system. It kind of sucks to have a PS3 right now don't it?
Maybe you should get another system...
