Well I guess some info on me is in order:
-I'm a 24 year old American teaching English in Japan
-I live in Fukuoka prefecture. The laid back and hot part of Japan.
-I think Akihabara is one of the most over-rated places unless you got the cash to spend.
-I like anime and manga but I will have no problems making fun of you if you like weeaboo crap like Lucky Star.
-Speaking of manga, I love the used manga stores here. I can buy the whole Berserk series for about $35 if I wanted to.
-Right now all I have on me for games is my DS, PSP, and my laptop. If you wanna play something, hit me up on steam.
-Oh and I'm a big Z.O.E. and mecha fan.

Ok so claw machines arn't new to anyone. I'm sure you guys at one point in your lives have seen one and wasted money on. A play for one is like what, 25-50cents? Then you might have a date that is really insistant on you wining one prizes for her. Naturally you would think its not a big deal and play, and play, and play until you've wasted $20 on a stupid claw game without winning anything and losing your masculinity in the process. Now imagine if the cost is not 50cents but $2. That is how expensive it is on average for a single try in Japan. Not only that but some decent prizes can be found in the machine as well so you have more of a motivation to try that shit out. So instead of losing $20 its possible that you lose $50 and STILL not win! The claw games make me a sad panda...

I would waste money on one of thouse things if I were there in japan but $2 is alot...

There was a claw machine I played when I was in Japan... I would ALWAYS grab the prize, but every time the claw retracted back, it would hit a small panel, pretty much guaranteeing loss of the prize.

You probably had to have the claw puncture the doll if you ever wanted to win it.
