Preorder Rock Band for $59 NOW, figure out how you're going to play it LATER!

Best Buy has recently started selling pre-orders for the new soon to be hit game Rock Band. What it the price you say? $59USD. That seems like a pretty sweet deal and I think most people would be jumping at that opportunity since it was recently reported that Rock Band was going to cost around $200USD

Pre-Order Now!

However there seems to be a catch. If you look closely at the fine print mixed in at the very end of the Synopsis:

"Accessories, including a drum controller (not included), a guitar controller modeled after the legendary Fender Stratocaster (not included) and a handheld microphone with a karaoke-style interface (not included)"

This seems to defeat the purpose of the game....why would you buy it if you didn't own the instruments to begin with....you couldn't already own them from a Previous Rock Band. This makes me wonder if they are going to be selling each instrument separately or if this is just a mistake on Best Buy's part.

Would you buy just the game sans instruments...seems kinda silly?

This makes sense as you CAN buy the instruments separately. If you don't want the drum kit or microphone, you won't have to spend the $200 for the whole package just to rock some gee-tar.

Um, yes. I would. I already own a guitar. I wasn't planning on buying this with a full drum kit and mic I don't want or need.

What -D- said. Also, some people just want the game sans instruments because they might still have their guitar from GH II. At least from what I remember, the GHII guitars work with Rock Band. But I could be wrong.

No, from what I've heard they plan on supporting the GH2 guitar on the 360. That was one of the reasons for the phone jack in the bottom of the guitar.

That's true. It just seems like the point of owning Rock Band as opposed to say GH3 would be because you have all those instruments. Without them it's just Guitar Hero under a different name.

Yeah, but some people fear change and karaoke.

DVD is right about the GH2 guitars. They said they plan on making them compatible, albeit without the extra features of the rock band guitars.
