Yay! My next Youtube video! This one is about Kid Niki: Radical Ninja, an NES game (actually an arcade game originally) that I played a lot as a kid but that nobody ever seems to mention when talking about classic NES games. I'm starting a new series on my youtube channel. I call it "Have you played...?" and in each episode I will discuss a classic game, while showing the gameplay from the first couple of levels. Hopefully it will inspire people to learn more about some of these classic games (many of which are being slowly forgotten) and maybe even play them themselves! I think it is very important that we preserve an appreciation and awareness of gaming history, even as we move ever forward towards newer and newer tech.

I've been wanting to write this post for a while, and with the Wii-U only 2 weeks away, now seemed like the perfect time. I think Nintendo is a fairly misunderstood company - people act as though their decisions are illogical or foolish, but actually they make perfect sense as long as you look at them within a certain context. In this post I briefly (relatively) go over Nintendo's history, offer some analysis of their console strategy, and make some unfortunately dire predictions regarding the Wii-U.

So I finally created a Destructoid account, and I don't know what took me so long, since I've been on other game sites for a while now, but whatever - you didn't come here for that. No, I lured you here with the promise of a song. And I have a song. An Epic Video Game Rap Song, to be precise, that I wrote and recorded in response to some annoying people on the internet. As someone whose gaming passion goes all the way back to the NES, I feel that the old ways are not being adequately respected - I seem to be constantly seeing foolishness from what I assume (hope) are children who sadly don't know any better. This annoys and sometimes even angers me... so I did the only rational thing. I wrote a 9 minute battle rap in which I put the verbal smack down and stand up for the righteous Real OGs (Orginal Gamers), which I am proud to count myself among.

Here you go! And remember - even though I surely sound as deathly serious as Tupac on Hit 'Em Up, actually it's all in good fun. Please don't feel too offended if you suddenly realize the song is about you.
