I have been playing fighting games since I have around ten years old, and well I started with Soul Calibur and Tekken, only recently did I branch out to Street Fighter and other 2D based fighters.....Mortal Kombat is another story though.
The purpose of this blog is to help people adapt to a new fighter when it comes out, learning the lingo and training for a few hours to understand the basics.
All fighters have their own lingo as such has the numbers people say when they want to speak combos: Example, 236 would be a quarter circle forward, the way you read this is very simple just look at the num pad on your keyboard for your PC and it should hit your easily enough...once you learn this every fighter should be easy talk, now all you need to know is which buttons to say, Soul calibur usually goes by ABKG
A is for horizontal
B is for vertical
K is for kick
G is for guard
(Note this is only for soul calibur)
Street fighter goes by LMH or light medium and heavy
You have L punches and kicks
M punches and kicks
and H punches and kicks
using six buttons total if playing on a arcade stick
(A small tip, when a fighter comes out and it has a strategy guide, BUY IT!)
Strategy guides are sometimes the best option for learning lingo. They sometimes state things from frame advantage to advance combos that take split second timing, and usually break down every characters strengths and weaknesses....
Thats is for lingo the basics of learning a fighter will come shortly...
