Vasoline (my achilles track)
Melmoth | 11:31 AM on 03.17.2008 3 comments

This song used to bring a smile to my face, plenty of times i'd hear it on the radio as a budding youth in a northern Ohio city. This was a time before time, a time when i had a cd/cassette player in my bedroom and actually used to the record feature of that player to get songs off the radio. This old bookshelf recorder looked like some evil machinized ivy, with wires and tinfoil used to enhance the reception.

This track is now the bane of my existence. Between work, Lost Odyssey(destroy all kelolons!), and exercise, i get maybe 30 to 40 minutes before bed to practice my (rockband) drums. Blackened completed on hard, same for And Justice. 2 songs which are considered to be harder even by Harmonix's own admission (due to their placing on the playlist). If i so much as miss 2 or 3 bass kicks and maybe 2 or 3 red notes, i'm down to yellow on my meter.

Working on the hard solo career, i've unlocked most of the indie songs, and played through almost all of my dlc in hopes that something in one of those songs will help Vasoline click........it's not working!

Eric Kretz, you sir are an ass.

Really is it that necessary to be so irregular with your bass pedal....really, is it?

If anyone from Harmonix reads this, I hate you by proxy.

(also, have my babies)

I thought this track was severely misplaced in the difficulty listing for drums, too. Try practicing perididdles between your hands and feet. This was the only song I just really had to grind through in practice mode before I could get it, but once you do, it's easily repeatable.
