About Me

I have an unhealthy love of cheeseburgers. Chances are I'm eating one now.

My earliest memory is of my brother and me opening a big golden package on Christmas, and to our complete and utter surprise, it was an NES. That pretty much frames my life, one of abject geekiness.

I tend to enjoy the solo experience of a video game more than the multiplayer(although I do love playing games with my friends), so I'm a huge fan of third person adventure games, and think that Ocarina of Time is the single greatest video game ever made.

Also, I love watching people play games, be they RPGs, FPSs, Action-Adventure, most anything other than sports games.

I sat out in the Maine winter on November 18th to get a Wii at launch, and cannot be happier about it.

Faith in the Good Will restored

So right now I'm writing this on my laptop with about half an hour of battery power left, because my power cord is literally sparking and I don't feel safe with it plugged in, so I'm gonna keep it short.

Today at the Good Will I might have made the greatest discovery ever:

Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis

Complete with everything, even the registration card, and Lucasarts' old game magazine, The Adventurer.

Now, as some of you may know, I am a sucker for the old Lucasarts games, and to find their magnum opus for a buck fifty nine in a Good Will is amazing.

Anyways, as I said, I've only got about half an hour worth of power left, so I haven't given it a whirl, but it's still a great find.

Anyone else find any old games at the Good Will? Or any thrift store for that matter?

At Goodwill? Really?

I think you need to buy a lottery ticket with the kind of luck you're having, my friend.

Dammit.... I need a Good Will store near me. All we've got is the Salvation Army.

I have three goodwills near me and the most I've found was a pack of 7 atari games for 3 bucks (which I don't even have an atari to play them on...)and DC NFL Blitz 2000 for 3 bucks.

Though I have a retro game/comic/general geekery shop around here that I can find quite a fw nice things at around here.

I used to have that game when I was a kid. I could never figure that shit out so I gave up in like the second area.

God, I miss that game. Played it to the end at my cousins' house probably twice. Good call picking that up.

Never found a cool game at a Goodwill, but I found a copy of the first Bard's Tale at a used bookstore. Didn't pick it up, because I was young and naive, but it was there.
