Dude, I love Deadpool! I don't read comics though, so I first heard of him through word of mouth, and then a bunch of Googled stuff. But seriously, what a guy! I love how he often breaks the fourth wall, and his brand of humor. I remember seeing something where he burned up the Smurf Village with a magnifying glass, which cracked me up. Could somebody back me up with an image search? Anyway, I should stop. I'm tired, and I know I'm rambling on far too much.
I have a very limited idea of who Deadpool is... but that's bc I'm perpetually broke and thus don't buy comics very often. But I get how you feel with the kneejerk reaction, bc I have that snap call to judgment everytime I see a teenage girl wearing a Nirvana t-shirt.
Deadpool is awesome, but when I see cable in that last picture, all I can think of is HYPER VIPER BEAM, HYPER VIPER BEAM. >_>
I have a lot of comics lying around from when my dad used to collect, but I haven't really read a lot of em.

Yeah... I'm one of those guys that found out about Deadpool recently and totally jumped on the bandwagon. Don't get too angry Max, if it helps he is indeed awesome
Another reason to like Deadpool: he assassinated Charlie Sheen. Truly WINNING.
Deadpool is badass. I've never been into comics, but I've meaning to check out more Deadpool stuff for a while. I think I'll have to order a few books. He seems exactly like the kind of hero I can get behind.
I've always enjoyed Deadpool's self-aware lines in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I'm sure he's a great character in comics for the same reason.
Dave Lapham's Marvel Max Deadpool title is great. Plus its drawn by Kyle Baker so it looks like a Disney movie but with violence and sex.
I'm sorry to see the Deadpool team up stuff ending as that has continually been a treat to read and I had hope that it would reach issue 1.
Overall, I dig the character a lot. Kind of what Wolverine was in the 90's to a lot of people. When he's written well, especially in his more serious moments, its damn brilliant.

I've never read a Deadpool comic, but I love what I know about the character.
Remember when Ryan Reynolds was on Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place? Those were the days.

Folks who don't know about ol' Wade Wilson. Tsk tsk. That's like not recognising Bea Arthur was the most fetching woman in the world. Anyway i suggest reading Deadpool trade paper backs that cover from his X-force appearance to the Joe Kelly penned series to the current Daniel Way series.
Deadpool is badass. I wasn't a big fan of Merc With A Mouth but Deadpool Max is the most amazing thing EVER!!!!!!
Stryfe? That takes me back...
Also, I'm a big comic fan and I have nothing in my collection with Deadpool in it. That's not really a slight against the guy, but I just don't have anything. Don't really know how that happened.

@Falsenipple -- How dare you, sir. Cliffy B is the Rob Liefield of video games. You got it backwards. Deadpool aside, I agree with you. Read some tweet comparing 90s comics to modern video games, it made a lot of sense. Just read the first Savage Dragon miniseries from 1991, and it's so meatheaded. Image Comics... God bless 'em for trying, but fuckin' A, they don't stand the test of time.
@GeneEric -- There really aren't much in the way of trades for early Deadpool. His first two miniseries were pretty good. Getting entangled with early 90's X-Force isn't something I'd wish anybody who's just after Deadpool. The Joe Kelly series started off pretty strong, but got convoluted fast. The very beginning and very end of the series was good, but then he got killed off and there was Agent-X and that's just another whole can of worms. I think the Cable & Deadpool is a good place to start, especially for anybody who doesn't wanna deal with excessive Marvel Multiverse bullshit.

Deadpool is probably my second favorite Marvel Character (Sorry, but as awesome as breaking the fourth wall is Spider Man has most of Wade's mouth with more multiverse awesomeness) and it's awesome to hear his video game appearances are boosting his popularity (Now can we get some Toxin love? He's so under appreciated). I'll admit, though, as much as I love comics as a Medium, I just find that as they currently are they require too much effort to become involved in, which is why the only comics I tend to read are one-shot Batman comics.
Oh, and Definitely, Maybe is one of my favorite movies ever, the fact that you love it makes me love you. But not really, because that would be creepy. But you're officially my favorite D-toid staff member now. Bromance?
Finally, on a completely unrelated and hopefully not creepy note, do you do anything to your hair, Max? Is it "au natural", do you blow dry it, do you use a hair gel, etc? I just wonder because it looks totally cool in a natural way and I'm curious how natural it is. And I kind of like hair a lot. Still not creepy.
...Please don't get a restraining order on me...

I dunno Max, I think the only way you've got me is if you're still current with all of Deadpool's shit. I have a complete run of all his appearances up until last summer when I pretty much quit comics. And I do mean I have everything up until that point, from early appearances to the minis to issues -1, 0 and the entire true run of his first ongoing, Agent X and Cable & Deadpool. Oneshots, alternate covers, I have it all up until that point. Then I have all of the DP stuff from his surge in popularity until my aforementioned "quitting" last year. DP is the only character I was ever that obsessed over, and I just hated how he's been written and over-saturated and that's why I gave up on him. Deadpool has always been up and down in terms of the writing's quality, but it's been a steady decrease (in my opinion) since Gail Simone left. I really can't stand the one-note joke Way & co have turned him into. Joe Kelly & Gail Simone for life. /dorky rant
Also, I won a Critter Crunch code here on Dtoid by pretending to throw up a bunch of my Deadpool figure collection:
