Firefox 3 sounds awesome, but I don’t want to use the beta of something as vital as a browser, especially since Firefox is my default browser. My three-and-a-half-year-old laptop is unstable enough as it is. Is there any timetable for a final release?
the final release is scheduled for spring.
Actually the beta 3 installs in a separate program files directory. So there shouldn't be any problems with you giving it a whirl.
I made sure to export my bookmarks when i installed as a backup just in case but never had any problems.
excuse me. All of the betas install in a separate program files directory with Beta 3 simply sliding into the previous beta folder if you already have one installed.
During the initial beta install all of your settings from the stable firefox or firefox 2 are copied over.
glad to know they're still trying to improve a great program.
switched to FF years ago and haven't looked back
Yea, I've been using Beta 2. I'll get this right now.
yes it solves a bunch of memory issues, but what kind of bugs does it still have? like, is it anything really noticeable?
Firefox is delicious. I can't use IE at all anymore, and I'm DL-ing this now. Thanks!
Thank god, cos the last Beta made me go right back to Firefox 2
using it now, but prolly will use it less than Firefox 2. I like my super mario bros. 3 theme too much.
