Scott Pilgrim anybody?
MarginalMeaning | 9:45 AM on 02.13.2009 6 comments

To those of you who don't know what Scott Pilgrim is... go out right now, find a copy, read it, buy it, love it.

The basic story of Scott Pilgrim is about, well a guy named Scott Pilgrim. He encounters a wonderful woman named Ramona Flowers... but little does he know that in order to be with her he has to defeat her 7 evil ex-boyfriends.

The series is dripping with geek references, with Scott's band named Sex Bob-omb, and their rival, Scott's Ex-girlfriend's band, Clash at Demonhead. Honestly, it has been perhaps the best comic I have personally read in the past few years.

There are references to many little nuances of games - save points, leveling up, skills, etc. etc.

Volume 5 was just released about a week ago, they are going fast, I know the local comic shop here was sold out first day. If you can definitely pick up the series, it's a great comic.

That actually looks pretty awesome. Kind of Windwaker-esque, huh?

@GuitarAtomik: You'll have to wait another 5 days for it to come out. I love the series to death but he sure takes his damn time getting them out. (It's been over a year since volume 4!)

Also, for anyone interested in the movie.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
