So apparently the comic-con teasers are now available for public viewing. All I can say is: amazing! In case you didn't notice, my banner and avatar are a result of the brilliant minds at this particular studio. I fact, I really wish that Madhouse was doing the Halo anime as well. I don't think it gets any better for anime fans when you unite both Western and Eastern properties for an all out over-the-top action fest. I, for one, enjoyed Batman: Gotham Knight, particularly the two bits that Madhouse did. If I had to choose, I'd say Iron Man looks particularly incredible when compared to the seemingly overly-easternized Wolverine that I have dubbed "Kenshin with claws". Don't get too excited though. Apparently these two clips are just examples of what to look for in terms of the style, and aren't actually final footage. So are you a fan of Western IPs gone anime? After watching the Iron Man teaser, you might be.

Wolverine... no. It just looks too generic. A lot of the character seems to have been lost. As Aborto said, if it wasn't for the claws, there would be nothing even remotely tied to Wolverine. Do I think it would be impossible for Wolverine to work in an anime? No. In fact, I think it would be very interesting to see an anime retelling of his time in Japan a'la Clairmont/Miller's mini series.
Oh, by the by, don't hold me to it but I heard it was announced at Comicon that the two follow-ups with the same studio are going to be interpretations of X-Men and Blade.
...
Blade could be worth keeping an eye on...
Iron Man on the other hand looks mighty mighty epic...yeshhh.
Any news on when in 2010?!
But that Wolverine one...why'd they make him look like a generic pretty boy? Wolverine is supposed to be all scruffy and rugged, not a rip off of Vega from the Street Fighter franchise.
For a long time, Marvel/DC have been looking for something extra to make money. The recent trend in super hero type OAVs movies have been getting positive press, so these anime are a great way to build up and sell these to a new audience.
Wolverine, I hope the final design look better than that. Wolverine without muscles doesn't seem to appeal as much. And those claws are too clip on ninjalike, that they don't seem to be part of him.
As for X-men anime, I'm hope that will be cool, but the X-Men story has been retold so many times over the years, that I rather them focused on lesser known titles like Ironman etc. Blade could also work well, and yes, I'd buy that on dvd too.
Iron Man, however, is still up for the time being.
For Great Justice!!!
