Next Halo 3 FNF.
Macca | 10:52 AM on 03.01.2008 5 comments

After reading Alex's latest FNF recap, it became clear alot of people are alienated by the newer Halo 3 maps, who has the and who doesn't. It seems like there are a few people who would like to jump in, but can't due to this factor.

So, for next week, why not have a schedule? I know it sounds all organized and shit, but if it helps the night run better, and more people enjoy themselves, I'm up for it. Would be pretty simple. For instance, play Normal Maps Customs from 4 - 7, DLC Customs from 7 - 8.30, then jump back into normal ranked matchmaking. This way, people who want to play can, and we don't feel as bad when we have to kick them. It also means, with them all getting split up at the same time, they can go and create their own party, which can keep on truckin.

Anyway, just an idea? Thoughts?

That's a good idea, I would get the new maps but my friend who's a Halo fanatic said they're disappointing.

hmm, I dunno, Why not just have two rooms?

I bought the new maps last week to play with you guys and by the time they were done downloading them no one played them anymore. I'm kind of pissed that I wasted $10.

Anyway, I think we should maybe just get two hosts going for Halo 3. It's not only an issue with maps, but with gametypes. I prefer a more organized game than is often played. Random weapon spawns on ridiculously bad custom maps is not enjoyable for me--no offense to vexed alex or anyone that enjoys them, it's just not my "thing."

So, if anyone is with me, I would be more than happy to host a second Halo 3 group or help Macca out with organizing it. Hell, I'd be willing to put together well-balanced custom maps and gametypes on a Destructoid fileshare to get a nice friendly-yet-competitive atmosphere going down. I have much more fun talking strategically with a team then I do wandering around going ZOMG!! WARTHOG ON NARROWS RAAAAPE!!

The only problem with that is that there's not enough people to justify two rooms, Wardrox. At least not in the North American FNF.

I think a schedule should work out nice, actually. I think I'll work on that.

@ HarassmentPanda

Sorry. You should of joined yesterday. There were some pretty interesting maps on Foundry.

:)

And I'll make sure to do some competitive games and not just vehicles thrown around everywhere with random weapons.

You can also get another room in, but like I said to Wardrox, we usually aren't full. On good days we are, but there really isn't anyone else left to play.

Although I hear that may change. Something about FNF getting bigger.
