If you want to go overboard it will cost more, but if you just want a functional arcade-style stick, it's chump change (well under $60, not counting the cost of a controller)
this is fun and easy. all you need is a controller for a console that you don't mind ripping apart, and solder away.
you can also go to a site like ultimarc.com and get a pcb rather than solder to the orig conroller, that'll give you a usb/ps2(PC) compatible device, and you can get connectors for most systems.
and to do it right its gonna run you over $60.
you don't want to buy anything other than a happ joystick, those can be $15 and up, buttons and switches are about a buck a piece, and then your controller/pcb. then you need the materials to make the joystick, and since this is a labor of love your not gonna wanna use shoddy mdf. good wood ain't cheap. but its fun, and when done right, the results will convince your friends you really need to get laid.
thanks galagabug. those are very useful sites. im going to bookmark them, because this is a project im not going to start until i move to my dads. i have no tools here. He has a whole garage full.
seriously though I need to make a custom arcade stick. the T5 one is more hollow than actual use. Plus it's clunky. Not easy to carry around. But I need one for my 360 so maybe i'll try making my own rather than trying to get someone to make one for me.
