Red Octane rocks the GHIII bundle!
LusciousRichard | 2:15 AM on 10.27.2007 5 comments

I'm not sure if this is already common knowledge, but I just got a Guitar Hero III bundle for the ex-bawks from the Red Octane store that included the game, a wireless guitar, a gig bag and a keychain for $99.99. The schwag is kinda cool, but it's still a really good deal without it. The same bundle is listed on Amazon for $150.00 and nearly everything else on teh internetz is comparably pricey. Am I getting excited about getting the shaft, or is this really a good deal? And as a secondary question, am I the only one who gives a sweet, steamy crap about picking up GHIII? Are you all saving your pennies for Rock Band instead?

I'm excited! 1UP has also just confirmed that the Les Paul controller will work with RB, so that's a plus.

If you get the PS2 version you can save yourself $10. Let's face it Guitar Hero III isn't about graphics anyways.

And obviously I don't think much about rock band.

There are still plenty of people excited about GHIII. I personally am saving my pennies for Rock Band. I wanna play drums.

@hippiepieces: Yes, but the PS2 version has no online multiplayer.

I’m plenty excited about Guitar Hero III. In fact, I’m picking up my copy from Best Buy tomorrow. Luckily, my birthday is coming up in two weeks, and my parents will be getting me Rock Band so I can have the best of both worlds!

Actually I threw a copy of the PS2 version in there as well, but it's for my mom. I've got all the GH kit for the PS2, but I want Rock Band for the 360 and this way I can save myself the price of a guitar.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

I've been gaming on computer and console for about fifteen years. Watching the joy that is the video game go from being regarded as a silly, frivolous thing to be enjoyed only by children to a full fledged industry with a wide community of supporters has been pretty freakin' sweet. And we can all look forward to an even more better gaming experience with each passing fiscal quarter. Or maybe each passing holiday season. Whatever.
