Rock band is confirmed for the Wii by Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello during a conference call.

"In terms of pacing the next few quarters, you're probably well aware of the more than $2.5 million music downloads that have occurred on Rock Band, and that's a good part of the business. But what is probably the most interesting pieces right now is the coming launch on the Wii..."

AWESOME! I'm a little disappointed that there was no mention of DLC or what particular "flavor" of Rock Band we would be getting though. Here's hoping that Wii owners don't get screwed.

Sounds cool. I hope they don't take the PS2 version over a scaled down 360/PS3 one. That would suck.

Although I'm a huge Wii fan, I somehow see DynamicDonut's prediction coming true --- Something tells me we'll be getting a PS2 port. :(

I'm dreading the PS2 port too... I think the capability is there if they want it, though, and the Wii is all I have right now, so I still have hope.

It would e stupid not to release on the Wii. Look how well Guitar Hero has done on it.

Awesome! About time, too! I've been putting a ton of time into GH3 for the Wii and I've also pre-ordered the extra guitar through Toys R Us, but I'll be getting this when it comes out for sure!
