Luc, the amount of hype you managed to get for EC was an off shot chance, an incredible feat in its own regard. Unfortunately, it backfired later, leaving many kinda lost in it all.
On the other hand, Mecho Wars has had so little hype leading to launch, which is better. Because it will get press now word of moth gets round.
Try shooting some media schmooze toward gamerswithjobs.com .
From listening to their podcast, they're generally VERY interested in new iPod tech and talk about it pretty regularly.
Also, I hear that myextralife.com has a podcast specifically about iPod apps. Dunno how much they get into the games versus widgety stuff, but they have a large following on iTunes for their other podcast, The Instance, which is about WoW
wait, I wasn't banned for being an epic troll? I feel like I've failed somehow
everyone expects a price drop because there is so many shitty games at 0.99$
there is no plans for a price drop at all :)
Bah, no lite/demo version? Ah well, maybe the next time I get another roll of dimes or something I'll pick this up.
Looks good, but like so many others here I don't have any way to play it. Advance Wars clone or not I'm assuming you don't have their code or anything so you had to build it up from scratch. Which is by no means easy.
I hope the press and the public will like your game. Keep it up.
@Luc
I'll see about getting a review done for Negative Gamer.
This on PSN would be an instant purchase. While I loved Advanced Wars, I always thought that the whole "environment is only useful for slight defense bonuses" was a bit of a cop out on their part, so this looks mighty interesting to me.
Actually kind of fun. I mean, it's Advance Wars... but it's fun.
@ Luc Bernard
There are a ton of games that are not worth 99 cents, but I've seen quite a few games priced at 99 cents as kind of an introductory sale. That's where I've picked up a lot of really quality games. I'm not saying that Mecho Wars isn't worth the price tag, but just that I'd like to see it cheaper for a few days to make it easier to spread the word.
It looks fun, love the art, I'll have to check this out someday when I have an iphone.
