Nah, this sounds interesting, particularly the day/night changes. I also love the crazy graphical style. And if its similar to Advance Wars, well that just means it probably plays pretty well. Ill grab a demo if its there, else I'll have to wait for some money :(.

I'm also a bit with Ajaxender. I don't expect it's difficult to make something good when it is essentially Advance Wars. But that said, I don't think there's anything offensive about bringing a popular game type to a platform that doesn't have it, especially when you add in the unique art style. I don't have an iPhone, but if I did, I'd check it out.

As far as expecting the hate, I like to think that we give people the benefit of the doubt, and we give people second chances here. That is probably not 100% true for everybody, but if you're making games and you want to talk about them here, people will listen.

Luc, the only reason you got grief for Eternity's Child is 'cause it was unplayable. It looked like an awesome game, but stuff evidently got mixed up somewhere down the programming line. (I'll still buy it if it's still coming to WiiWare, btw.)

Mecho Wars' mechanics are all in place and working efficiently therefore the bare minimum has been achieved (playability), so look forward to positive reviews. I'd definitely buy it on the art style alone if I had an iPhone. You gotta sort something out with an XBLA release, man.

Making games is tough man. Last time it was the first time we all had sex, we thought it was gonna be great, but it was just awkward and kind of scary...we were all surprised.

I don't think you should expect negativity. No one here wants to see anyone else fail; people just tend to get a bit reactionary when they feel the community is being attacked.

Some of the negative nancies are still here, but not as many. I have an iPod Touch and some gift certificate money, so I will most likely be checking it out.

And I think the problem with Eternity's Child wasn't the core concept, but the mechanics not implemented well. As many here have said, I would imagine making games is not easy.

Steam, XBLA, PSN, WiiWare, or hell, even the Zune HD if they allow for it.

Luc, I formed a committee that banned all "epic" trolls since you last used the site. It's been a better experience for everybody since, or so the healthy comment counts suggest.

That was a tough lesson -- my optimism (and naivete) that everyone would eventually get along didn't always produce the best results, despite good intentions. So there you go.

Eternity's Child ended up being highly enjoyable for me when I eventually played it a few months ago. Those patches fixed a lot of the critical control issues. I'm certainly looking forward to the WiiWare release.

Even though it is Advance Wars when distilled to the absolute basics, it's hard to knock someone for that or we'd have to knock all games for essentially being clones of each other except Spacewar! back in the 1950s and 1960s as the first video game.

Don't have anything I can lay this on, but here's hoping it goes well :D

Well the thing is luc, it is an iphone game. Great platform for small indie games from what I hear, but isn't really covered that much as far as game sites go. Good luck with the game though.

Luc, the amount of hype you managed to get for EC was an off shot chance, an incredible feat in its own regard. Unfortunately, it backfired later, leaving many kinda lost in it all.

On the other hand, Mecho Wars has had so little hype leading to launch, which is better. Because it will get press now word of moth gets round.
