Bioshock 2 Fan Made Concept Art!?...Very Nice

I definitely have new wallpaper. A college artist named Ben created some amazing Bioshock 2 concept art which has been posted over at Ripten for a couple days and it has already got the attention of some folks at 2k.

Whether or not you agree with Bioshock being turned into a franchise, the concept art is pretty damn cool and begins to paint a very interesting vision of Rapture.

Note to 2k: I want to fight that whale thing! Make it happen! The link to the rest of the art is below. Given that this is the first concept art I have seen from the community for a Bioshock sequel (or prequel) I would be interested in seeing what the more artistically inclined among us could put together in the same vein. I would totally do it but everything would end up looking like it was from Pearls Before Swine strip.

about me

From God's lips to my blog...I try to express my thoughts, concerns, criticisms and musings about video games, culture, and anything else I see fit. All time favorite game? Toss up between Shining Force and General Chaos. If you know those two games, then you have better taste than most. Also I love all of the Civilization games. I can't think of a better way to waste 9 hours...that or sleeping.

I firmly believe the best video game system ever was the Sega Genesis. What other gaming system had its own channel on cable? If you didn't have Sega Channel, then you missed out! I loved the Dreamcast too, although as soon as I got a PS2, I realized that the Dreamcast wasn't that good.
