I'm pretty hardcore, I got a 30 dollar grill at the swap shop so that should pretty much answer the question for me

So does anyone know how to hack a PSP
Los Milty | 11:21 PM on 01.03.2008 20 comments

I just got a PSP slim and wondering how to get all these nifty homebrew thingies onto it so I can play snes roms and legal, *ahem*, psp iso's.

If anyone who is smarter than me and knows how to do this please inform me and I will be forever in your debt!

thanks loves,

Los Milty

I can help you. But first, you have to go and get some jewel screw drivers and a 50-pack of coffee filters.

The honey trick doesn't work on the slims.

Hook your PSP up to your computer using a PSP-USB cord. Next, open up the new drive that shows up. Then, hold alt, and press F4. Now, from here you should be brought to the "debug screen" for the PSP. If the window closes, just keep trying alt+F4 until you see the "debug screen". Once you're in the "debug screen" you should be able to move ROMs straight from your computer onto your PSP's internal RAM.

To boot up your PSP playing the ROM, you'll want to put it in your oven (some people can fit it in their toaster!) for 20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 150 degrees. This will melt the saudering points of the RAM to the graphics card so you'll be able to hear the game. Unfortunately, there is no way (that we know of yet) to get the games to play sound.

DynamicSheep is right. It may take several tries because Sony tried to block it.

oh also, you're gonna need a original copy of GTA Liberty City stories. So get ready to plop down some money or hope you find a used one in Gamestop/EB at a decent price. (or have a friend who has GTA to get it done.)

@Kryptinite

The latest firmware fixed the hole in the code allowing honey-hacks. :(

You need at least 10 l33t's. If you don't have that many, don't even attempt it because you run the risk of bricking the PSP.

Shin Oni doesn't know what he is talking about. What you need to do is make a Jigkick battery and repartition your memory stick with despertar del cementario V3. Together this is called a Pandora Battery and will install a custom firmware on your psp so you can play emulators and iso.

I did it on a slim 3.71. If you need to find out how to do this I suggest you google it and research it until you are 100% sure you know what you are doing as you can destroy the battery while taking it apart to create a jigkick battery very easily.
