BlindsideDork i love you, that's why i used the same header because we share the same hate, the one about being treated UNFAIRLY!
I pre-ordered my copy of CE WAR the day it was anounced (26th March), but EA sent me a cute e-mail today saying...
"Thank you for ordering on EA Store (US). Unfortunately, the product(s) you've ordered is currently out of stock and could not be shipped. The product(s) has been placed on back-order and will be shipped as soon as possible when the stock becomes available. You will receive another e-mail notification when your order has actually shipped. If you paid by credit card on our site, your credit card has been pre-authorized, but you will NOT be charged until the product ships. If you pre-paid using an alternate payment method, we will hold your funds until the product ships. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
Out of stock? Back-ordered? I pre-ordered my copy the same day it was announced! Pre-ordering means you keep me a copy! WTF EA? Once again EA strikes... but i sent back my reply and it looks like this:
"I pre-ordered Warhammer Online Collector's Edition back on March 26th, the day it was announced to the press. I immediatly went to your website to pre-order it, meaning that i was probably in the first (remember there were 60000 of them). Pre-ordering a product means that you guys will hold a copy for me, just like Gamestop does it. You guys have let me down by not having a copy ready for me. Will i still be able to play WAR while i wait for my copy? I can go back to WoW you know? WotLK will be out soon.
Please ship my copy ASAP as this was your duty to do it. I'm pretty sure you guys don't need anymore bad press about EA sucking, so fix it! I will blog this out on Destructoid.com until i get my copy."
I stayed pretty diplomatic without cursing (but i wanted to) and i do hope that my message gets across at EA store. They can't accept pre-orders if they can't deliver them!!! I'm not even sure if i'll be able to play after the head start with all of this. Anyways, stay AWAY from EA Store at all costs!

Simple answer? It sucks but you've now learnt not to buy direct from EA ever again. They will fuck you over. I bought a game from EA link (or whatever it has been changed to this week) and had nothing but trouble, as many have.
I'd see if you can find anywhere else selling the CE still and cancel the order personally, they don't give a crap how you feel about it.
I had some crappy issues with my copy of Orange Box and it was my first time activating anything with Steam!
The CD-Key would not work and I tried inputting it like 50 times. I tried all the 0's as o's all the I's as L's and vice versa I then sent a HUGE nasty e-mail got no response for 2 days, they gave me some lame excuse and a basically told me to try it again and I re-tired the code and it magically worked.
It was not fun at all.
This is why digital distrobution sucks and I don't want it to take over as there is too much that can go wrong and you can't get anyone to help you.
It happened to me w/ the legendary edition of Halo 3. so i just canceled my pre-order and went and bought it at Best Buy where they had plenty of them & i didn't have to pre-order. it was the last time i ever pre-ordered anything at gamestop. I've been using Circuit City now & they've held games for a week w/ no problem & have always had it on release day if i could get there.
Also, EA are morons, and I hold hope that one day they go bankrupt and, like the Wolf from Little Red Hiding Hood, get cut open at the end, and all the good game companies EA has gobbled up over the years come tumbling out and go on to make more classic C&C and Magic Carpet.
