The First Game You Ever Played Was....
Liamguy01 | 2:12 PM on 11.05.2009 14 comments

Well, during my yearly room cleanup, I stumbled upon a box of my old games. After taking a quick down memory lane, I began to wonder:
"What was the first game that I had ever played?" Answer - Tetris for the original Gameboy.
Then I began to wonder again "how did everyone else come upon the world of gaming?"
Post the name of the first game you ever played here on this blog.
And really, I'm genuinely interested.

I think it was Gauntlet.
Probably Gauntlet.
I only remember my dad having two copies of the game before he bought Super Mario Bros, and something else.

Frogger on the 2600. I was like 4 or 5. Dad got it second hand somewhere. It was 1985 and we lived in a trailer with wood paneling. He came home late one night with it stuffed in a cardboard box. We hooked it up. There were 2 games, Frogger and Centipede. I was hooked. I will forever associate wood paneling with gaming and vice versa.

Super Mario World was my first game, back when I was four.

I was four in 1998, so I was quite behind the times.

I would say Duck Hunt.

The first game I can remember playing was Frogger for the Atari 2600 at a friend's house. Good times back then.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

I am - watchamacallit - Someone who isn't a hardcore gamer but isn't a casual one either?
Ah, well.
Anyways, I own a DS Lite, PS3 and a PSP.
My favorite games are Hotel Dusk: Room 215, The whole God of War series, Fallout 3, GTA IV, Pursuit Force, Shadow of the Colossus, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Street Fighter IV.
I like every game genre except for racing, with a couple of exceptions. (FORZA!!!!!!)
