So, since I have a job and no life at college, I decided that I'm going to actually try and keep this little blog active and not just post the Rig contest thing... (For those who might complain, I've always browsed Destructoid but like other community sites, I don't usually post or comment... new leaf though...)
Anyhow, the other day I picked up a copy of the PSP version to PS2's crack equivalent God of War series. I must admit too... I'm quite impressed... The PSP has always been that hand held that's just been there... not too many games (good ones at least) except Metal Gear: PO which just about anyone will agree with...
So, to be a reviewer, I'd say it is quite the all around game. The controls on the game, though different from the PS2 version, are very comfortable and do not take away from game play (minus my thumb bleeding from sliding across the "nub" too much) Also, graphics are fairly decent, especially for a hand held and so far, I love the potato suit. I only beat the game in Easy mode so I can't say much about difficulty other than the fact that acquiring Red Orbs in this game was VERY easy. As for the story, I'm not big on prequels but it fit rather nicely with the GoW timeline.... one thing that puzzled me is how why they had you "meet" Atlas even though he's in God of War II where he meets you for the "first" time (or so it appears, maybe I should replay and check the dialog) Anyhow, if I were to rate the game, I'd give it a
9.5/10 taking off a little bit for lack of nice boss battles (I didn't like the final boss) and the difficulty of upgrading your weapons...
By the way, for those who care... I've been working on the Hades Challenges for the past two days and they are .... a bitch... the first... easy... second... GAH!!! I documented my attempts to kill the 20 bastards and it went something like this: 1,0,1,1,5,7,3,1,0,0,1,2,etc before eventually reaching 10 kills halfway through and then going straight to 20 on another turn... lucky me...
As for the 3rd quest... I hate it so far... destroying the little bird things (help me out on a name) is a pain in my ass...
