A 'Wii' Bit Too Plain
Leonheart515 | 8:51 AM on 03.12.2008 8 comments

I've been thinking of decorating my Wii. How do go about doing it is the problem. First off, I apologize for the pun. Second, a story:

After browsing the web (a while ago), I came across the article of a kid with a pretty cool X-Box 360. He went to various shows and places and got signatures of various employees and artists from the Halo universe.... on his console.

Now, as I viewed this I looked over at my white, normal Wii and thought it'd be cool to have something on mine as well. Unfortunately, I don't away from Pittsburgh and home much so I doubt I'd ever get anything special from Nintendo staff or the like. So, I thought 'Hell, I'm in an Art School.... why don't I draw something on it... make a Nintendo collage or something... but then I run into problems... what do I use? what will I draw? what if I mess up?

I then turn to Google and their almighty image search in hopes of finding other Wiis that people maybe decorated... I found two that used paint... I suck at paint...

So, with painting out of the question, I turn back to the 360 and see what looks to be Sharpie. I LOVE Sharpies and have damn near every color so it'd be nice... but will Sharpie work on the shiny exterior of the Wii?

I Ask You Destructoid for help in my quest for a unique Wii. If you have any suggestions, comments, or tips please comment or email me (Leonheart515@yahoo.com)

If I do decide something, I'll keep you updated....

Thanks for the help. (Credit to whoever owns those pictures and props to the artists)

God Of War: Chains of Olympus

So, since I have a job and no life at college, I decided that I'm going to actually try and keep this little blog active and not just post the Rig contest thing... (For those who might complain, I've always browsed Destructoid but like other community sites, I don't usually post or comment... new leaf though...)

Anyhow, the other day I picked up a copy of the PSP version to PS2's crack equivalent God of War series. I must admit too... I'm quite impressed... The PSP has always been that hand held that's just been there... not too many games (good ones at least) except Metal Gear: PO which just about anyone will agree with...

So, to be a reviewer, I'd say it is quite the all around game. The controls on the game, though different from the PS2 version, are very comfortable and do not take away from game play (minus my thumb bleeding from sliding across the "nub" too much) Also, graphics are fairly decent, especially for a hand held and so far, I love the potato suit. I only beat the game in Easy mode so I can't say much about difficulty other than the fact that acquiring Red Orbs in this game was VERY easy. As for the story, I'm not big on prequels but it fit rather nicely with the GoW timeline.... one thing that puzzled me is how why they had you "meet" Atlas even though he's in God of War II where he meets you for the "first" time (or so it appears, maybe I should replay and check the dialog) Anyhow, if I were to rate the game, I'd give it a 9.5/10 taking off a little bit for lack of nice boss battles (I didn't like the final boss) and the difficulty of upgrading your weapons...

By the way, for those who care... I've been working on the Hades Challenges for the past two days and they are .... a bitch... the first... easy... second... GAH!!! I documented my attempts to kill the 20 bastards and it went something like this: 1,0,1,1,5,7,3,1,0,0,1,2,etc before eventually reaching 10 kills halfway through and then going straight to 20 on another turn... lucky me...

As for the 3rd quest... I hate it so far... destroying the little bird things (help me out on a name) is a pain in my ass...

Not my Turning Point gaming rig

First off, this is my second time doing this as my computer was unplugged whilst taking photos and I lost my pre-post.

With that being said, I'd like to point out that I don't like posting things or blogging... but I do like telling stories... and with that in mind... I realize they are about the same thing... and there's a computer involved... so... here's my awesome computer setup. Oh, and my digi has a broken screen so sorry for the crappy photos.

First, the overall of my "not rig." I'd like to point out my lovely keyboard complete with black ink stains from my wonderful step brother. Also, you'll notice a blue paperclip unfolded on top of the keyboard. That is the tool I use to open my CD drive since the motor stopped working. Next you can see my speakers which clearly don't match. The original tiny speakers stopped working properly and then one day my nephew pulled the On/Off switch clear off the poor little thing... So in came some speakers from my school. Last (since my monitor is pretty decent minus the sticker that randomly appeared) is my mouse which is a good ole Dell "ball" mouse complete with cord and mousepad (Also taken from school). My lovely girlfriend bought me a laser mouse (featured in another image) but it broke about 2 weeks ago so I had to dig out the original.

There she is... in all of her Dell beauty... I received her as a gift from my blonde sister who decided to surprise me one Christmas. Unfortunate for her, the sales representative took advantage of her computer knowledge (or lack of) and threw in so much bullshit that it ended up costing her more than she could ever pay off (she filed bankruptcy) I don't know much about what's inside but if you care to see:

Wow, the dust. I used half a can of air on this beast and it still looks like shit. Notice the lack of power supply though... stupid me... That's about it though... its big, old, dusty, and my little baby. If you care to know the specs, I'll see what I can find out....

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU - 2.8 GHz
Memory: 511MB of Rambus Ram (Which I can't buy due to availability and price)
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium - 32 Bit
Dell 8250 Machine
Dell Keyboard and Mouse
"Multi-Media Speaker System"
17" UltraSharp Dell Monitor

Extra Tidbits: (The Rant Section) I'd like to point out that my 511MB of RAM gets me NO WHERE especially with Vista installed. Since the upgrade, I can no longer play my Counter Strike: Source, SimCity 4, Warcraft III, Halo 2, or any other good game to recently come out *cough*Portal*cough* When I purchased Vista, I also purchased more RAM knowing I needed more but not realizing what type I needed so before you ask "why the hell would you put Vista on that" and also, I got Vista to play Halo 2 on my PC but that as mentioned above, failed miserably...

Any other questions, comment or email me: Leonheart515@yahoo.com
Thanks for checking out my Not Turning Point Rig ^_^
