C-Blog Interviews: Zodiac Eclipse; Ruling the Forums with an Iron Fist of Love

This is more for the people on the forums and I'm at a loss as to how to get the news that this exists into the forums. Should I just make a post that starts off as a serious post and at the end adds a "Oh also, there is this interview"? Should I have helpers plant messages in passing such as "I agree with your stance....also, there is this interview"? Well either way, here is something to enjoy for this oppressive Tuesday morning.

The Forums...How did you find them and get on them?
After I joined the main site I did some Cblogging, but realizing that it took me far too long to produce worthy content I decided to find other ways to fit in around the site. I accidentally stumbled into the forums and lurked from the shadows for a bit. Finally the day arrived when I felt I was ready to make my very first post. I was promptly cursed at and told to make an intro. I shook it off, sucked it up and made an intro and after that the regulars accepted me into their fold. Eventually I was asked to be a Moderator, when I didn't destroy the place they made me an Admin.

How did you get your name and avatar?
When I was in college and starting spending more time on the internet I started using the name Zodiac because 'Z' names are the best names. Sadly I wasn't the only person to have realized this so most places I tried to register for already had a "Zodiac" or two floating around. A friend of mine had just bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was his pride and joy. I decided the two words sounded pretty awesome together and started using it for everything.

I was using Rukia from Bleach for my avatar for the longest time. I posted in the "Rate the Avatar Above You" thread and got a less than stellar critique so I went off in search of something better. I had just started watching Black Lagoon and being a sucker for a hot chick who can mess people up, I started using Revy as my avatar. Occasionally I add some stuff to my base avatar, depending on what games I'm playing or what hot new trend is going on in the forums, but the pic has pretty much become synonymous with me so I keep it.

If you could call a country your home, what country would it be?
Good old USA for me, but I claim Germany as a second home. Maybe I should look into a summer house there.

Favorite game? I know you have one.
One? Pull up a chair friend, I have several. For the sake of brevity and out of respect for anyone still reading this (most people likely stopped because they don't have forum accounts and therefore have no idea who I am) I'll go with the original pre-"New Game Experience" Star Wars Galaxies. It was my first MMO and it had a significant impact on my life since through it I met the man I ended up marrying. I have some RPG's that I adore, but SWG will always be the most important game for me.

Favorite Movie Line? or just a memorable line from something
There was a commercial for some dating site or something once where a really overly enthusiastic lady tells her date, "Let's talk about something fun, how about magic?" My husband and I still use that one on each other whenever we're bored or mocking crazy people.

If you could hug anyone on dtoid who would it be and why?
All my guys on the Forum Team (Mxyzptlk, IcarusKills, and Ali D). They are in the trenches with me day in and day out. I literally couldn't do the Admin thing without them to back me up.

So they call you the Momerator...When did this happen?
Word got out that I was a mom which, contrary to what you might think, isn't considered that cool. After having anything I posted refuted with "lol, because mom" I gave up and embraced my inner momness, after all my forum kids are just like the special needs children I'll never have. When I became a Mod I asked Technophile to change my "Moderator" title to "Momerator" and the rest is history.

When I grow up, I want to be....
Independently wealthy, failing in that I'd settle for still being me, but with more games and a PS3.

Now that I'm old I can finally...
Call people "kid" without them getting all uppity about it because now there's a good chance that I'm actually older than they are.

So the Last Airbender was a huge dump, anything else you were disappointed by in the last year?
Star Trek Online, I'm not even a Trek fan, but husband is so I gave it a try. Worst MMO experience ever.

If maybe I told you that you might just have one day left to live what would you do?
Go to the book store and buy everything. I have a slight obsession with books and have always wanted a room in my house to just be nothing but shelves and shelves of books. I would make this a reality then spend the rest of the day reading to my kiddo.

Do you have a Prized Possession? (Note: Family and Loved Ones Do Not Count)
My PS2. I was late to the game getting one because I was a poor kid. It's a refurbished model and it grinds and wheezes like crazy when it runs, but I love it endlessly. My husband and I have an understanding.

I was thinking about the Black Lagoon because of your avatar, tell me, How did you come across such an amazing show?
I have a awesome friend who is basically my anime liaison. Every so often I go over his place and we spend several hours watching whatever cool new show he's discovered. I think the last one we watched was Durarara!! which I highly recommend.

What makes the Forums special as opposed to other aspects of Dtoid?
We're just better people. Seriously though, it's just a great place to hang out. The forums sometimes get a bad rep for having a high bar to entry because you can't just pop in and say/do whatever you want. The locals keep it highly self regulated and if they think what you're doing sucks they won't hesitate to tell you, but if you can take the criticism and build on it you'll never have a more entertaining bunch of internet friends. It's also the only place on the internet where you'll be able to find a highly developed discussion of post modern literature followed by a slew of poop jokes. There's something magical about that.

Is it sometimes weird that people older than you are calling you "Mom"?

Yes, yes it is.
