My name is Ryan and I work at a pretty prominent web company. I'm 22 years old, which probably makes me one of the youngest people at the company (out of over 100 people). I have half of a college degree, a full-time job, and now I've got a place to hang out and talk about awesome video games.
Feel free to talk to me! <3

The indie game La Mulana is coming to WiiWare, complete with updated graphics, and it looks like it's going to be published by Nicalis:
(story via IndieGames.com)
(Image from the original PC version of La Mulana)
I don't know what's up with Nicalis, but they really love WiiWare and they really love indie games. Their first WiiWare game is going to be a remake of Cave Story, probably the most critically acclaimed indie game ever made.
Then, their second game in development is Night Game, which is a game designed by indie developer Nifflas, and is an atmospheric game where you control a ball. And even though it's description makes it sound like a remake of Nifflas' Within a Deep Forest, it's an entirely new game. If the name Nifflas sounds familiar, it's because he's the guy who made the excellent Knytt and Knytt Stories. (If you've never played Knytt, you have no excuse. It's free. Just click on the link and download it.)
And now Nicalis is doing a remake of La Mulana, which is another free indie game with a serious cult following. For those of you who don't have a Wii, we're not used to games of this quality. WiiWare is home to a lot of complete garbage. WiiWare has two different games named "Family Pirate Party" and "Party Fun Pirate," ...it's gotten to the point that the shitty games are even trying to rip off the other shitty games. But Nicalis is making an effort to bring some of the best indie games and indie developers over to WiiWare.
For that, I applaud them. Nicalis, I know I could play Cave Story for free on a PC, but I'll still gladly buy it on the day it's released.
*For more WiiWare indie love, check out World of Goo designed by Kyle Gabler, and the upcoming Super Meat Boy designed by Edmund McMillen. And de Blob, which was originally a free student PC game, but was bought up and got turned into a full retail game. And Swords and Soldiers, which is the second game from the guys who made the original de Blob indie game.
...okay, what the hell? Since when did Wii become the indie hangout spot?
EDIT First official trailer of La-Mulana on WiiWare (with update graphics):
So it turns out that I'm a little late to the party. Either way, it's still pretty awesome! :D (And oddly enough, I still haven't seen this story on the main page yet either.)
