Fuck you SilverDragon1979!
I've already talked about the awesome vintage game store here in Orlando in a previous
blog, so I won't go into details about how awesome the store really is. I've also shared with my fellow comrades that
Mr. Wilson hooked me up with a Dreamcast not go long ago and how I really wanted
Grandia II for it. I know I can pick up the game for the PS2, but when I want something, I go out and get it!
So today after worked I decided to stop by my favorite store and see what new merchandise that had come across. The ladies of the store are amazing and always remember my name when I come into the door. They also knew that I've been searching for a copy of
Grandia II for quite some time. Imagine my surprise when she tells me that they have a copy of the game and have been holding on to it for weeks until I came back. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Needless to say I jumped up and down like a kid in the candy store and quickly whip out my cock, I mean credit card to pay for it.
But before I pay for it....
Fuck...yes
She whips this out. Yes boys and girls, that a mint condition copy of
Shenmue II for the Dreamcast. Most of you have never seen this game let alone played it on your Dreamcast. This copy was never played because the owner didn't have a Dreamcast and was given the game from a uncle who lived in Japan. All I need to do is get my hands on a Utopia disk and have at it! It also has an English translation so I'm all set to go!
I also picked up a new Official Dreamcast controller and a red Gameboy Pocket before leaving the store. Now excuse me while I plow through Grandia II and actually finish the game this time.
I also told her that if she needed a website to hit me up.
Good show Kryptinite.
Right down the street from a kick ass Thai restaurant.
Sounds like game Xchange in Fayetteville AR. You can find anything there.. I scored pretty much all my retro stuff there.
They moved to Winter Park :(
And you could just pick up grandia 2 for the PS2 - LULZololol!
...Just joking! Awesome finds, and congratulations!
Any condition Shenmue 2 is better than mine. I don't have any. =(
And now I feel worse about selling my Dreamcast and all my games, including the first Shenmue. ;(
I'm going to go somewhere and cry now...
In PAL-land they must not be as rare.
And I have Grandia 2 but I have not yet played it.
gotta buy some disks. But I got a new sega last week. So I'm at it again.
**Im looking for a copy of PARAPPA THE RAPPA bleemed. I found one but its taking forever to dl.
I frequent quite a few privately owned businesses, and while their prices aren't always the best, the service is impeccable - and they go out of their way to keep you coming back to them.
Yeah I don't think it came out here in the US for the Dreamcast :(. I loved the first one and want to continue the story.
@mechamonkey
What Arttemis said. Mom and Pop shops are always awesome because they know the nicer and cooler they are to you, the more likely you are to comeback.
@chillybilly
The store use to be located on Colonial/50 near downtown Orlando, but they relocated to Winter Park. Close to Fairwinds/Aloma. Off of Orlando Ave.
Also, burning a Utopia disk on a Mac is dumb, hard, and fucking frustrating! I think I have a PC laying around somewhere.
PS...dont tell David where the store is, or else you will have to compete with him for the awesome games! :P
Working at an private game business is effing sweet. Weird that it's pricey, at my store we purposely price all of the used games lower than Gamestop prices. We also have a frequent buyer's card and everything.
Good find though, didn't even know there was a Shenmue II.
In all seriousness though, that's AWESOME you did find the game. I hope you enjoy. Let me know how it is since I have never actually gotten a chance to play it.
No hatred at all :). I'm just playing around.
