My Video Game Collection (Part One)
Krow | 11:32 PM on 03.22.2009 25 comments

It's not until you setup your games in neat stacks and take the time to photograph them that you realize how many you have truly purchased over the past decade. Sadly, I only have games dating as far back as the Playstation and Nintendo 64 era, excluding my inherited collection of Game Gear games. Anyway, gawk and be amazed at my rather mediocre collection of Playstation, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and Wii games. Next time I'll showcase my PSP, DS, Gameboy Advance, Game Gear, and Xbox games. The Playstation 2 will follow shortly thereafter.

There are larger pictures attached below, if you can't make out the games in the smaller ones.

Nice collection. I have never played Viewtiful Joe but have always wanted to. Maybe I'll borrow it from a friend.

Ya, you got all the classics, dude. Even some that I haven't even played ... like Silent Hill :(

Alundra 2, Megaman Legends 1/2 and Jade Cocoon? You've got taste ;)
And for someone who likes Banjo-Tooie over Kazooie I thought you'd at least own it

Oh, and did your contest end or what?

Nice collection, there is no way I could stack those GC games like that without them falling over and just punching them

I lost it in a move GameGoblin. Contest isn't over yet, I'm still waiting on a submission from TrailerParkJesus.

@Diverse

The games are fully functional and I don't ever intend to sell them, so why bother getting black labels? Besides, I bought those when they were brand new.

I like how you stacked the GC titles, son! Ha ha!
How in the world did you manage not to smash apart Mega Man Anniv. Collection?! The A and B buttons are swirched in the GC version... Blasphemy! How in the hell did that happen?!
I bought that game and quickly returned it to purchase the PS2 version.
Shame on you, Capcom! Someone was in a hurry to get to lunch that day!
Yeah, you don't realize how many games you have until you stack them high against a wall! ;)
Nice collection, dude!

Believe me Namakubi, if I had a SNES and a NES I would be all over that. Sadly, I don't. Give me a few years.

@Bwark

Not to say your a lier or anything but if you bought those when they were brand new then they would of been black labels. Since greatest hits usually weren't released until about a year after the game depending on how well it sold.. just saying..

@ChronoSwing

What I meant was that I've had those games since they were released as greatest hits, which really holds no relevance to what Diverse was talking about.

@Myself

I take back what I said about it holding no relevance. I've had those copies for years now and there's sentimental value in them to me. I wouldn't trade them away for black labels just to say I had the less widely available version.

I still don't get why the original prints are worth more money. They're the same games aren't they?

Because they look better, you get rid of the ugly green border and the greatest hits disc usually just had tacked on shitty cd artwork where as original black labels usually had much nicer artwork.

example ff7:

@Chronoswing

Ah, I never knew that. I can see why you'd rather have the original over the greatest hits copy then, but I don't think it would be enough to persuade me to buy another copy.

Well I only own the greatest hits copy of ff7 as well, I used to own the black label back when it first came out but stupid young me let someone borrow it and never got it back... so I had to settle for paying $30 for greatest hits instead of paying upwards of $100 for black label on ebay... oh well. Maybe one day the black label will show up in my local used game store for $20.. I wish anyways, that's how I got my black label ff8 and 9.

Nice collection, some essentials are missing though

Megaman X collection and Golden eye, all I can think of right now. I think I'll make something similar
