Incredible Times With the Metal Gear Solid Online Beta!

Here, in pictures, is my incredible time with Metal Gear Solid Online yesterday! Needless to say, I'm going back for more. Exciting, different, radical, it's a game like no other online shooter in which you shoot people in deathmatches and tactical games.

Here I am assaulting the blue team base with my Nikita missiles. Those jerkfaces don't know what's coming!

Check out the poly count on this close-up. I'd say I've seen photo-realism before, but this takes the cake.

Man! I totally got owned there!

Just when you think you've won the battle, the enemy comes in for a regrouped assault, making me wait in the trenches for another fifteen minutes.

As a "hacker" you must crack the code in order to infiltrate the base and win. Watch out for "website crashes" or else you'll be forced to start over.

Just like in the offline game, helpful comments steer you towards your goals.

MAN! What an incredible game...

Ah, it's actually pretty good once you spend the two hours getting it started. Good music, nice graphics... the camera, lock on, and shooting controls are westernized, but unfortunately, they chose to emulate GTA: San Andreas...

Still, once you get used to the slightly off-putting controls, it's a lot of fun. For some reason my favorite things are running around in the cardboard box, tranquilizing people, and using the riot shield. The riot shield could be really cool in a "capture the flag" or VIP scenario if you have a few guys with it turtling around the boss.

The "BASE" gameplay is stupid. I only go for DM and Team DM. It is fun using the tranq. gun though.

When I was playing a match last night, I had no idea I just shot this guy with it. I went back to see him snoozing and one of his teammates tried to wake him up, but I guess he didn't know how so when he was dragging his partner around, I shot him in the face with the tranq. gun too. Then when they were both unconscious, I shot them both in the face with the AK.

Nicely done, my buddy had a similar experience! Judging from the gameplay video I watched this seems just as compelling.

I wish it was a HUDless game of Hide and Seek.

The game had much face rape.

I feel that the damn shocking knife is over powered to some degree as people just run around swashing their knife everywhere and face raping you while you lay on the ground, rinse and repeat.

Agree with the knife thing, when I see someone trying to do that to me, I just run a bit and have them chase me, then I run to my team and they pop him, fun times. I prefer run and gun with the autoaim and the p90, lock on, unload, dead, takes a few to many hits for my taste though.

Also man, I'm not sure if you've read much on here but the process to get ready for the beta has been posted numerous times on the cblogs. Did you just get your disc recently? I had everything set up before the beta got delayed so I could avoid this very situation.

I hate this game with a sick passion... I never got this peice of shit beta to work. I just error out non stop.

Corak, the only part you could have prevented is the Konami / Game ID. I downloaded the game a few days ago... and that section only took 15 minutes of the two hours.

Still, a free game is a free game. I just like mockery.

dephect, ah, it's alright... don't hate it, embrace it in all its crazy Kojimaness. You can walk around in a cardboard box! I'm sure somewhere there's a random poop joke, and if you hold R1 and L2, you tell your teammates about that time that you had sex with your step-sister and your dad killed himself.
