Glitch Makes Audiosurf Look Better (IMO)

// Submitted @ 12:54 PM on 02.22.2008

I guess that by now you've heard enough about how cool Audiosurf is. You may also know by now that I'm a HUGE fan and that I'm pretty much addicted to it.

Anyway, while spending time on my contest last weekend (check it just to see some nice song recommendations from everyone) I noticed that sometimes the road would become transparent/moremirror like.

At first I thought it was one of the normal graphic effects, but after a while I figured out that it happens (for some seconds) almost every time you alt+tab while in a song (be that playing it or on the menu). I really thought that you could make it look like that, but after playing with the options and background colors for a while yesterday it looks like, sadly, alt tabbing is the only way to get that effect. It might be only me, but I really like the difference, the next comparison pics are while playing "Negative" with background color "White".

Yeah, it does make it a bit more confusing, but being able to see farther in the distance and the larger mix in colors make up a better (and more challenging) gaming experience in my opinion. Hopefully a future update will allow me to play with those effects without having to constantly alttab.

Speaking of Audiosurf, I'm on the verge of doing another contest. If I could get some input on what you'll rather have, that would be helpful:
A) 1 small prize a WEEK based on highscore from 1 song.
B) 1 big prize a MONTH based on highscore from 1 song.
C) 3-4 small prizes a MONTH based on highscore from 1 song.
D) 1 big prize a MONTH based on highscore from weekly songs.
E) [Insert suggestion here]
