Wrestling Gone Wrong

You know it's all fake, right?
- Well, fake in the sense that these wrestlers really don't hate eachother? Or that these storylines really aren't real? Well, obviously. Though, it's not fake in the sense that the maneuvers are painless. Plenty of dive, drops and chops are full contact. Though the art of wrestling has always been a mix of combat and entertainment. In short, you're not actually trying to hurt your "opponent".

How did you get interested in wrestling?
- Wrestling was something a handful of kids I knew watched, but it hadn't gotten big yet until the late '90s. My interest in all the personalities that would hit the ring in the WWE (or then, WWF) had been growing since I can remember. By the time "The Monday Night War" was going on, I was still young, not even a pre-teen, but I was a big fan. I didn't get "smarky" until I hit 14 or so. Back then I ofcourse had alot more passion towards wrestling, maybe because I was young and so interested or because it took a bit more work to find out about things that were going on backstage or in Japan.

Who is your favorite wrestler?
- I don't have one, really. It'd be easier to ask me who would be my favorite in a certain promotion, but that's more than likely to change within a few weeks.

Do you like MMA at all?
- I do. Though I am a bit annoyed with "Cage Fighting" fans and generally badly booked UFC cards. No more than I am disgusted with alot of casual wrestling fans, though. I do however, follow promotions such as AFFLICITION, Pancrase and DREAM. Aswell as try to catch Ultimate Fighter whenever it's on.

Do you like any non-wrestling video games?
- None that I've been too into. I do remember enjoying some MGS titles and a handful of fighting games. I can't say I've ever been interested in Halo or Final Fantasy, though.

So, are you a gamer?
- Compared to most who frequent Dtoid, no. Nor do I really consider myself a "gamer". I've never sat outside of a Game Stop hours before it's opening to get ahold of a new game, I'm not a loyalist to any console nor have I ever been worried of the direction a company of video game producers are taking. I have however waited countless hours on the phone for tickets to a wrestling event, given my money to wrestling promotions through buying merch and have been worried of the direction a promotion was taking. The go-between me and a gamer was ofcourse, playing wrestling games. Much like most gamers have been playing video games from a young age and spent countless hours on a certain game, I too have, aswell, just under the wrestling games genres.

Do you ever read any other Dtoid blogs? (Ones that don't pertain to wrestling)
- Yes, I usually just like interesting and just very well written write ups.

What's your favorite wrestling game?
- The ones that I've put hours upon hours into are: WWF Super WrestleMania, WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, WCW vs NWO: Revenge and Fire Pro Returns.

What happened to all those older blog post you made?
- When I fist came to Dtoid, I posted a few blogs mainly reviews on some arcade wrestling games and I remember a New Japan Pro Wrestling game for WonderSwan. Along with reviews on episodes of TNA Impact! and WWE RAW. Long story short, I ended up removing all them after not updating the blog for a while.

WWE or TNA - If you had to choose one to watch tonight
KilledBySmarks | 3:26 PM on 01.04.2010 12 comments

So tonight's a big night for Pro-Wrestling. Supposedly tonight the night that's going to set the stage for another "Monday night war", or so that's the way that Hulk Hogan has been talking in the press, anyway. I suppose once Vince McMahon caught wind of TNA doing a special Monday night Impact with Hogan making his come back, that even he was a bit worried he might come up short in terms of ratings. What with having made it so Bret Hart would be the guest host RAW after being absent from WWE/F for over 10 years.

So obviously, with the advances of the internet, it's possible for me to watch both. Unlike back in the late '90s when the real "Monday night war" was going on between WWF and WCW, where I actually had to choose which I wanted to watch. In reality, I just skipped between channels whenever one got boring for me and stayed with whichever had the better main event. So which is it tonight, if I really had to just watch one? I'll more than likely see some WWE main event involving Shawn Michaels and Triple H and on TNA something involving AJ Styles and possibly Kurt Angle. However, which do I want to see more? A "Ya know somethin"-and-"brother"-laden-promo directed towards AJ Styles after not having seen the old red and yellow trunks in the ring for a few years now. Or "The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be" confront HBK after what happened in Montreal.

Also, let's not forget about Ring Of Honor, who also have a show on tonight. Though unfortunately, no big stars making any comebacks on their HDNet show, just awesome hard-hitting wrestling. Incase you miss one or all of them, you can also watch them online, the day after. ROH on Youtube, TNA on Spike's website and WWE on Hulu.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

WWE...just because I'd like to see Brett justify his appearing on the show after all the crap he said about McMahon after the Montreal Screw Job. Also, that was the same company that killed his brother so its interesting to see him on any McMahon run programming.

WWE because TNA is amateurish shit in comparison.

And if you're amateurish shit in comparison to WWE, you must be one hell of a shitty product.

I'm about a week behind on my Wrasslin' so I'm recording both on my DVR and I'll get to them eventually. If had to choose though it would be Bret and WWE. I love TNA and all but I have very little love left for the Hulkster.

if I was still into wrasslin, easily WWF. Never cared for TNA and I only look at Hulk in early 90s and back.

WWF/E didn't really kill Owen. But it is their fault for not listening to him when he said he wasn't comfortable with it. And as far as I know, Brett and Vince are on good terms now after some accident that happened to Brett and Vince payed him a visit. There's some amnesia involved somewhere in there too. But you know Vince will sell it for the fans/ratings. I'm sure Brett's appearance pretty much justifies it.

I may watch a bit myself just to see how things go down.

Out of curiosity, just how flabby are Hulk's leathery tits now?

When I was into wrestling during the "Monday night war" stuff, I'd only watch WCW if WWF was on commercial or something. How many fucking times is Goldberg going to storm in the ring and spear a dude?
