How to get 1000 achievement points in under three minutes
Justin Villasenor | 10:28 PM on 11.17.2007 15 comments

I think most of us have at one time or another come across those Xbox 360 owners that have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with increasing their gamer scores. Those individuals that will subject themselves to hours of sub par gameplay just because it‘s the most efficient manner in which to further inflate those pointless numerical representations. Well thanks to the fine people at THQ now they’ll only need to take a few minutes out of their day to net an easy 1000 points.

As you can see in the above video the newest game based on Nickelodeon’s animated Avatar series, Avatar: The Burning Earth, hands out all of its achievement points after about a minute-and-a-half of pressing the B button. While that might be good news for some people I just find myself wondering how the guy in charge of implementing achievements in the 360 version managed to half ass it this bad without anyone else noticing.

you're fucking kidding me...

yeah, those achievements are pretty sad. most achievements seem like they're just doled out for just playing the game. i think there needs to be more achievements that are WAY more difficult to get.

Some games are unbalanced in Achievement getting, but this programmer looked like he was getting lazy.

Those are some damn poor achievements. No beating bosses or the game achievements? Heck, it's all the easier, but still.

I'd like to see a gmae that just had one achievement. It would be called "Achievement Whore" and it would give you 1000 points for starting a new game. The description would simply read "Here, this is what you bought the game for. Just take it and leave."

Let's make it. Mr. Destructoid is the protagonist. He'll be standing in a completely white room giving out achievement poitns.

 about me

Hey all, the name’s Justin and I’ve been hanging around Destructoid since late 2006. It’s okay if you don’t recognize me from way back when, as I was originally known as TheGoldenDonut (and still am in the forums). I joined the staff in 2007 as a News Contributor after flooding the tip line on a daily basis, and now I get to write stuff on the front page. It’s been one interesting ride, to say the least.
