of course it's ruined. what kind of white guy has a name like goku? Yeah. I usually don't care that hollywood is dominated by white lead characters but casting a white dude for an asian role? that's pretty fucking lame.

Goku is an alien, he's not Japanese. He's named goku because his ship landed in Japan. Master Roshi however was Japanese, & is being played by a Chinese actor.
But somehow I think those will be very minor issues compared to how bad the rest of it will be.
That's true TMCM, he's a Saiyan, unless you count the fact that the story is based on the Chinese Legend of the Monkey King, but you are technically right there.

Also where is Chi Chi? and how come there was not one kamehameha? That would have been the obvious closing shot for the trailer.

It's so generic hollywood action it's not even funny. Big explosions, women with cleavage showing, elaborate martial arts scenes, even the fucking trailer has that "go to black, play a bang and show something" that every other trailer has. Fuck, even the logo at the end is incredibly generic
Those explosions were terrible. They looked like pyrotechnics from an old Chuck Norris movie from the 80's.
I just hoped that do move on the sailor moon next and cast all the girls as whiny ass valley girls *vomits*

I want to see this. Way to please the REAL fans of a cartoon by changing the aesthetics, mentioning a "prophecy," and just making the movie look like any other action movie.

This is going o be EPIC!! Hahaha, I've known this movie was going to be bad from the start, but I'm still going to enjoy it, even if it's for how bad it is.
@Ceark: Then it must really piss you off that Ludacris was given the role of a older white man in the Max Payne movie. And most likely to fill some stupid race quota for the film, as it is apparently obvious Ludacris has zero acting talent.
On topic: My childhood isn't ruined. I thought dragonball z was horrible. I had friends that liked it, and from what I saw while they would watch the show, this movie bothced it. A show this over the top should have been an animated movie anyway.
yeah i have NO faith in this movie what so ever but ill still be in theaters to see it, JUST to say i did. wish i saw speed racer in theaters >.>

Oh geeze... This is going to be so bad, so OF COURSE it'll be a ShiMuNi movie! I'm tempted to see it in theaters, but that would only give fox money for producing this SHIT. So I'll either bootleg it for ShiMuNi, or pay to see another movie and then see DragonBall. Either way, that shit's going to be in ShiMuNi FOR SURE.
I thought the kind of filmmakers that took an existing cartoon and put a modern "spin" on it to make it relevant to the current hotness died out from an asteroid.

I think the only things it shares in common with the actual Dragonball franchise are the dragonballs, and the characters' names.
Other than that, it doesn't look anything like the anime. o.O

i thought dbz movie would look like transformer but this one looks like DOA to me. what were they thinking? now why can't they hire decent actors and directors to make this legendary popular anime.
can they actually try to cancel the production before its too late? i think they should remake it and think better. xp
