I am already sick of hearing about Diablo III.
I've watched the twenty minute game play video, I've read about the classes, I've read up on some of the features, and checked out some of the artwork for the game. It all looks extremely interesting and exciting. All that anticipation over this game would normally be a good thing, I don't mind waiting for games to come out, that's all part of the fun. The problem is my computer is the gaming equivalent of two paraplegics trying to win a three-legged race.
I can barely run Warcraft III on this thing without (not game breaking, but) severely annoying lag. I'm not talking about over bnet; the single player campaign of Warcraft III lags on my laptop. Hearing about Diablo III just builds more excitement for this game, which I will never be able to run on my machine.
Right now, right this very moment, I could leave my house, drive 15 minutes to Best Buy, and easily buy a computer that could run Diablo III with its arm tied behind its back. It's one of the advantages of holding down a decent job while still living with your parents and paying virtually no bills. But do I want to shell out two grand, one grand, or even 500 dollars or so for a PC just so I can play Diablo III, Starcraft II, and Spore? No.
I'd rather keep that money and be that much closer to not being a nerd who lives with his parents at 22 years old. I'd much rather be a nerd who lives by himself.
Plus, when it comes to viewing lolcats, Destructoid, Penny Arcade, and of course, all-female midget porn, my laptop works like a champ. I'm in no hurry to upgrade.
I guess I'll go make yet another Oblivion character now.

Obviously a new computer will be able to play those as well as any other recently released game that might interest you... and games that you currently have (with performance about which you complain).
SC2 and D3 aren't even coming out this year, so there's no need to buy hardware at their current prices. By the time they come out, that now-$500 computer will most likely be quite a bit cheaper.

This is like me writing a Diablo III blog where I talked about the hamburger I ate today.
@ Jonathan: I have Oblivion for the 360.
@ Yashoki and Phist: Thank you for your helpful contributions.
@ Smackifilia: Yes, I was bragging about my awesome bank roll. You hit the nail on the head. Kudos.
God this "community" fails.
WHAT WHAT IN THE BUTT?
We will, once it gets that close, I'm afraid.
