About Me
As one of the oldest members of Dtoid, (I'm already over the big 4-0) I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 was a brand new item, and thousands of my teenage hours were dedicated to gaming on the Commodore 64 and messing around with the new 300-baud modems. (That's .00003 of a megabit per second, for those of you who only know broadband.)

I'm proud to say that I'm a member of the first-generation of gamers, and I still use my PC and each of the three current-gen consoles regularly -- and not for "casual" games. Bring on the hard-core FPS and 3PS! I want to shoot something!

So, I give a big PHUCK YOU!!! to anyone who thinks that video games are for kids! As far as I'm concerned, they haven't been for kids for over 20 years.

GAME ON!

Let Best Buy install your Wii game!
John B | 11:09 PM on 08.02.2008 25 comments

This isn't the first time I've seen this, but while at a local Best Buy to purchase Boom Blox for the Wii I saw this and had to chuckle.

Of course, there's nothing to install with the Wii, unless Best Buy considers the save game file to be an installation. I hope that Best buy doesn't expect people to pay every time they want to play the game. (Yeah, I know, this was just someone being careless with storage boxes, but it still made me chuckle.)

On a separate note, if you own a Wii but you don't own No More Heroes and Okami, you're an idiotic fool.

I can only imagine a scenario where this would be necessary.

I already have Okami for the PS2. But I guess I don't want to be a fool by not buying the game twice :'(

If the installation service was true, I bet it would scare away the computer illiterates.

I have been trying to procure a copy of Chrono Trigger, so I have an excuse as to why I do not have either.

Can't play Okami, too many comparisons to 3D Zelda AND 40+ hours of gameplay. No thanks.

Since Okami is one of my favorite games all-time, I'd buy the Wii version, because it's in 480p.

I really didn't like NMH much. At all. I do love okami on the ps2 though, and i've been seriously considering picking it up on the wii to be able to play in in 16x9 480p.

You assume too much. I didn't say which version of Okami, did I? :P

I'm not utterly impressed by it at this point, but in fairness I haven't put too many hours into it either. The whole game is just one big physics engine, and some of the levels are not easy. So, there is definitely enough to keep you interested. Maybe it will grow on me in time, but so far it's not the "OMG! THIS IS SO COOL!" that many on D-Toid and the reviews on X-Play have made it out to be.

Unless I purchased and supported Okami back on the PS2 when it first came out. Ass.

And I'll say it again, idiot. I didn't mention which version, did I? How dumb are you to actually think that I'd expect you to buy the same game twice just because it's on a different system?

Man, the assholes are certainly showing themselves today.

No More Heroes is probably one of the best fluorescent light installation games ever made, I highly recommend it.

Is that for in-stock items or is it just what they normally charge for it? If it's actually in stock, a $50 markup is great! Most of the scalping that I see is for $100 over MSRP. If that price is for out-of-stock items, then FYE can GFT.
