Look at that, EGM shuts it doors and now Hardcore Gamer is selling it's magazine on eBay for $42K
Let's all chip in, buy it and start up Destructoid The Magazine.
We'll feature Dale North on the cover of the first issue and we'll have a feature where he interviews himself.

MAGFest 2009 - The Aftermath
JoeCamNet | 9:47 PM on 01.05.2009 3 comments

So, this past weekend all the cool kids went to MAGFest in Alexandria Virginia. It was a 4 day party of gaming, music and alcohol and it was sweet.
As one of the few true 7 year veterans, I'm somewhat beyond getting for the actual gaming and I'm to the point where I'm just there to hang out with all my friends. Even still, there were some VERY awesome events for the year and I'm just gonna do a little rundown of some of my high (and not so high) points of my weekend of MAGgotry.

- A_Rival on stage friday night to rock some faces off with his chip-hop show. Amazing.
- Friday night chip show in Jamspace where I was on stage to do a live performance of Da Black Market featuring some tight freestyle from A_Rival.
- Tons of alcohol
- Being interviewed by Larry Oji for OC Remix while totally blitzed.
- Shaking DJ Pretzel's hand on camera and getting verbal confirmation that Twoson Hits the Road can finally return to it's proper home on Bound Together: Unrated Director's Cut SD Remix
- Serving HOT DOGS during the Smash Bros. Concert.
- Girls kissing me for HOT DOGS
- Men kissing me for HOT DOGS (Yay alcohol and lowered inhibitions!)
- Watching virt get interviewed for OC Remix, considering he hasn't been on that site in many years.
- The actual Smash Bros. concert itself
- Stupid emotional drunk bitches who can't accept that the guy they broke up with 8 months ago is dating somebody new.
- Giving men hickeys. (because I was drunk)
- Giving a girl a hickey right by her titty. (because she's hot)
- Giving con chair Brendan Becker a hickey (because I was paid)
- Getting my hands on fuckin VALKYRIE PROFILE. Welcome to my game rack...
- Getting Tomba! as well in addition to Silent Hill 2 and Growlanser Heritage of War Collector's Edition.
- Photographing guy's cocks and sending them to people on my cell phone list
- Interviewing Larry Oji about how a black man is whiter than most of the white guys at MAGFest.
- Creepy nerds are scary.
- Finally getting to CiCi's Pizza again.
- Eating at Five Guys again.

God...I could go for hours on how much awesome stuff I did. If you weren't there this year, you're fucking stupid. Get there next year. Seriously.
Maybe The Crakaz will have a full show one of these days. :D

This is Why I Love Goozex: Episode V - SotN
JoeCamNet | 10:32 AM on 12.01.2008 4 comments

Yes yes yes, time to talk about Goozex again after that wonderful little CAG detour.
Today was a good day indeed as I got a game I love long time.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night showed up today and in great shape. So good.
Best of all it's original Black Label and not the greatest hits reprint which makes life all the merrier, but what good is showing off one game when I can show off another that I got last week. It's not as big a deal as Castlevania, but after only a few short weeks for sale, I ALREADY got:

And to think I've been too busy with Fallout to even fire this up yet.
So, as always, I ask you that if you haven't signed up for Goozex yet, what the hell are you waiting for? Just click the sig below and sign up!
Anybody else get some nice treasures yet?

This is Why I Love Cheap Ass Gamer Volume I
JoeCamNet | 12:56 PM on 11.25.2008 16 comments

Ok, we've all seen my posts talking about how awesome Goozex is, but let's take it back a little bit... get a little more old school.
Straight up game swapping via Cheap Ass Gamer has been a way to get awesome games for many years for me now and I may have just hit the motherload today.
And by motherload I mean I think I came a little bit when I opened the box and saw everything.
By unloading a good few of my more current games (like Crisis Core and Riviera for PSP, FFIII for DS, some Shining games and Shadow Hears 2 for PS2, some Zelda Cube titles and what not) I got 5 games in return.
Yes, I traded about a dozen for only 5.

Why on earth would I trade 12 games (some rare or valuable) just for 5 measly games?
It's obvious that it's gotta be SOMETHING big with such a large scale trade, right?
I could explain it all to you, but pictures speak louder than words...

Thousand Arms
Einhander
Tales of Destiny II
Arc the Lad Collection
Wild Arms 2

Rock the fuck on.

My Gaming Setup
JoeCamNet | 1:53 AM on 11.10.2008 25 comments

I see everybody putting up pictures of their gaming collection, so I figured it was time to upload my setup to see what people think. Apologies in advance for picture quality in some pics. This is all done on my cell phone camera.
Enjoy the pics!

This is a wide view of most of my setup. 46" Vizio LCD on the left, racks upon racks of games and swag in the middle, computer on the right. Not pictured: My empty wallet.

Main DVD Rack. Upper two shelves are Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. Next two shelves are family and comedy DVDs. 2nd shelf from bottom is nothing but wrestling DVDs. Bottom is action/horror/drama. On top of the shelf is a multitude of gaming goodies.

Some of the goodies include: Nintendo Monopoly, GTA IV License Plate, Big Daddy, Pip Boy Bobblehead, No More Heroes OST, Mario Galaxy Coin, RE4 Limited Edition for Cube, Zelda Art Cel and Wii Dog Tags. Also a good number of character figures including Simon Belmont, Blue Slime, Psyduck, Sonic and a Bob-omb among others, not to mention my beloved copy of MOTHER 3. The Okami poster is one of the replacement inserts.

Left Rack: PS3 games, PSP games, Genesis games, NES games.
Middle Rack: Dreamcast games, tons of TV Show DVDs (Including the complete M*A*S*H set on top), SNES games on the very bottom.
Right Rack: Hooked up game systems. Xbox360 (with HD-DVD Drive), Wii, Dreamcast (Black), PSX, Genesis, SNES on the very bottom.
Of note, that poster on the left is the Rejected Mega Man Villains poster from Dueling Analogs

On the left, PSX and DS games, middle are all GameCube, on the right are GBA games and my wife's DS games.
Some items of note are the blue-green GameCube, which is a nifty developers system, my Ghaleon Punching Puppet and on yeah, my Gears 2 Lancer on the right, which is fucking AWESOME.

Here's a better pic of the Lancer. Gears 2 game included in pic to show how big that Lancer really is.

Here's a head on shot (from my couch) of my setup. I probably should've left the TV off, as it doesn't really show how good the picture is (thanks Verizon camera phone), but the TV itself is great. TV is on my 360 Dashboard (Gamertag: Joe Cammisa)
Systems on left, PS3 and Xbox (along with surround sound receiver and Cable box) beneath the TV. On the right is my main game rack with PS2, Wii and 360 games and more goodies on top.
Some PS2 gaming gems include AR Tonelico complete with Art Book, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 Complete Box Set, Persona 3 Sealed Collector's Edition and Resident Evil 4 Australian Import.
More of my nice finds can be found in earlier blog entries regarding Goozex.

Some fun items are the Companion Cube Pushie, Fallout 3 Lunchbox, Samba de Amigo Maracas for Dreamcast, GTV IV Collector's Edition, Final Fantasy XI Clock, Soul Calibur IV Collector's Edition tin, a promo insert for Deadliest Catch for 360 signed by Sig and my very special Torchic Orange GBA SP (in between Scene It and the FFXI Clock) Also, the second Okami replacement insert and a smoke detector (FIRE SAFETY! WOO!)

Better pic of the PS3 and Xbox along with my drawer o crap. Both Halo 3 controllers for 360 are in there with other various cords and controllers.

Yeah boy.

This is my cat. He fell asleep on my desk. I fucked with him.

Finally, just to show a little bit more of my nerd cred, this is the Groom's Cake from my wedding.

It was delicious and moist.
To make things even better, to get a piece of cake, you had to dance with the bride. The song? Tetris Theme A as performed by The OneUps. No...it wasn't a recording. It was performed by The OneUps who performed all of the wedding reception music. Even Dtoid's own Dale North was there as he played keyboards on the bride and groom's first dance. That song? The Legendary Theme from Gitaroo Man.

I AM NERD
HEAR ME WHINE!
