It's funny, this is how I exactly felt at first, but admittedly, I've fell in love with the PS3 overnight after I got one.
I have one, too. I'm not quite in the "I love it" phase yet, but it's getting there.
I'll tell you... a 3rd party bigger controller with an offset left analog stick would go a long way.

Thats a good idea, I've got some xbox controllers laying around. Maybe I should break them open and take the analog sticks and replace the original sony ones. I kinda like the concavity of the 360 left pad.
