Greetings fellow gamers, today I'll be going over what I did yesterday and today in my gaming classes. Yesterday was my Logic in Gaming class, which is basically going over pseudo scripting, and applying logic to making games. There are more fundamentals to the class but I don't want to be too broad in describing them. I will explain more in detail once I know myself. But yesterday in class We went over scripting, pseudo script to be specific. Pseudo script is everything normal scripting is minus the syntax I think its called. The semi colons, brackets, ect...its used to get the basics of coding down, and apply that structure to other languages like javascript, C#, C++...Also our class split off into 3 groups where each group had to make a game out of 5 randomly selected cards out of a standard deck of cards. There was a lot of discussion too, and I was put on the spot to talk about my experience at Global Game Jam this past weekend. I will make another post about that specifically soon.
Today I had VICOM110, which is an introduction course into Computer Simulation and Gaming. What we learn in that class is the business side of the game industry and work ethics in a company. That is the class with the two companies, Zombie corn and Obscure Fish(my team) that I talked about in my previous post. We learned about legal documentation and the roles each person has in a company; CEO, COO, CTO ect..and we all have to pick a title and do those responsibilities till when the semester is finished. I choose to be CTO - Chief Technology Officer, which decides what software, tools, hardware the company will be using. Tomorrow will be my Game Production class, where at the moment our class is doing tutorials on the Unity3D game engine. So far some people are close to done but most are about half way finished. I'm about at the halfway mark. In my next post I'll tell you how that class goes. Until then, be cool.
