The Mobile Gaming Checklist –Things to bear in mind before downloading games

Mobile gaming is huge these days with just about everybody caught up in its craze. But while it allows users to have an endless amount of fun, its popularity has also given rise to fly-by-night mobile development companies and mobile game sellers who are just out to make a quick buck. They aren’t concerned about the kind of games they develop or sell, they are out to simply fleece unsuspecting customers.

This is why you must keep in mind certain do’s and don’ts that are a part of the ‘mobile gaming checklist’. Let’s take a look at them:

The Do’s

Do check the credentials of the company that has developed the game

Even if you are downloading a free game, you still want to experience world class gaming. This is why you must check the credentials of the company that has released the mobile game you are thinking of downloading. Try and get an idea about the team behind the game, whether they have built other games, and various other key aspects that will help you get a clear idea about the reputation of the company.

Do go through the review of the game before downloading it

Many people take one look at a game’s screenshot, another at its description, and decide to download it. They don’t bother to read the reviews the game may have received. Don’t be the one to skip this step. Reviews not only tell you whether a game is good, but also if it contains any bugs. No sense in playing a game that has a lot of bugs, right?

The Don’ts

Don’t download from just anywhere

Don’t get taken in by the ‘Download Here’ button. Why? Because it might as well be a ‘cookie’ trap and a game straight from hell! There are plenty of games out there whose sole purpose is to get sensitive information out of your phone. I kid you not, you download these beauties and you give them a free pass to access sensitive information on your phone. This might sound far-fetchedbut happens to be the truth. Always take a close hard look at the game you are downloading, especially if you are downloading it from sites other than official stores like Google Play or the iTunes Store.

Don’t forget to check compatibility

Some games are compatible only with the newest version of a particular OS and not its older versions. Go through their compatibility information before you actually go ahead and download them. There are plenty of people who have downloaded games only to find them incompatible with the OS on their devices. You don’t want to end up in that situation, do you?

End Words

This is just a very small sampling of the do’s and don’ts associated with mobile gaming. There are plenty of choices on offer when it comes to Mobile Games, not all of them good. You need to learn to pick the good from the endless options on offer. As can be imagined, this isn’t an easy task, which is why following a checklist of sorts is an absolute must.
